Black Bear Island will be joining Julio Canani who has his base in California.

I think BBI will be a G1 winner in the States before long...came so close today...tried so hard .

He looks a little difficult to ride. He is a small horse but I think he will do fine over time in the US.

Bit concerned he's failed to beat Take The Points tbh - the horse has been finishing third, fourth etc to Battle of Hastings and Straight Story in the big turf 3yo races thus far.
 
Black Bear Island takes on Take The Points, Battle of Hastings and Straight Story in the G1 Hollywood Derby (10f Turf) later today in Hollywood Park.

BBI is on Lasix and has first time blinkers. Very competitive looking race.
