2:30 Queen Anne Stakes

Can’t see past MODERN GAMES unless the other Godolphin - NATIVE TRAIL - has fully recovered his earlier mojo.

3:05 Coventry Stakes

I suppose the key question is whether you can rely on the remarkable time put up by ASADNA, it’s a “no contest” if you can. I’m a bit suspicious and I prefer to rely on the form of O’Brien’s RIVER TIBER who looks the better bet.

3:40 King’s Stand Stakes

Full of horses near and dear to me for whom I could make a case. Instead I think Wesley Ward’s TWILIGHT GLEAMING is much better than a 20/1 shot and I’ll go each way with him with six places available. If it was back in the 1970s and 80s when 3year olds had a fine time of it I wouldn’t be able to resist DRAMATISED., but wrong age nowadays.

4:20 St James’s Palace Stakes

Can’t see past the two 2000 Guineas winners and I think PADDINGTON shades it for me.

5:00 Ascot Stakes

AHORSEWITHNONAME never really lived up to his praise over the jumps, but showed there was something good there with a couple of decent flat wins. With Buick booked I give him a good chance.

5:35 Wolferton Stakes

The two Gosden contenders - FRANCESCO CLEMENTE and SAGA - are in my notebook and I hope they fight out the finish between them.

6:10 Copper Horse Handicap

Have absolutely no idea. Think I’ll pretend it’s a hurdle race and go with VAUBAN

A good weeks racing to look forward to but a lot of minefields along the way.will have to tread carefully. At war with the bookies.
Good luck BJ.

Minefields, indeed. I’m changing tack this year and just having some fun across the board so even if everything loses it won’t hurt a lot. GL, too, everyone - happy hunting

I think Chillingham has an outstanding chance of getting in the first 5 in the Copper Horse, and you can still get 20s. Target is the Ebor and likely needs to run well here, suspect it will have been a carefully chosen race en route.

Four winners qualifies you for genius status, BJ,

One winner a day at the Royal meeting is a feat in itself.

11/8, 11/5, 7/1 and 1/1 winners
