I thought a thread for each day so one thread doesn’t become overloaded. Hope that suits and Desert is wrong about participation :). Here’s mine for day two:

KASSAYA
Wednesday, Queen Mary 12th

She was a well supported favourite and raced fairly well up with the pace until a gate was shut in front of her a couple out which caused her to lose position. She came again, but was persistently denied a clear run and her goose was cooked.

DOOM
Wednesday, Duke Of Cambridge 3rd

Before she saw the track Doom was being touted as a superstar in the making. She has never lived up to that and although she has won a couple of races her main claim to fame is being beaten at Ripon when 25/1 ON. This was her first time dining at the Group table and it was a pretty good run into third, albeit no challenge to the Gosden duo. Arguably it was her best performance (but beware the “Royal Ascot” bias in the ratings) so it will be interesting to see where she goes from here.

INSPIRAL
Wednesday, Prince of Wales 6th

I thought John Gosden’s comments were very revealing and if she does go to a fillies race she has still got to get away reasonably well. Seems sensible to wait for one of those over a mile?

“They've gone very hard over a stiff mile and a quarter and it's caught her out. The Santa Anita mile and a quarter is very easy and they went slow [in the Breeders' Cup], but she's got caught out on stamina here. She came with a run and then flattened in the last furlong. You could just tell it was a little bit much going that pace over a mile and a quarter here. You've got no chance drawn ten and you've got to drop across. She's slow out anyhow, but the last furlong told me everything and she didn't get the trip under those conditions. We'll see how she is, but there's no reason you can't go back to racing against fillies again - John Gosden, joint-trainer.”

I'll re-watch the meeting tomorrow and Tuesday evening so not many initial thoughts although I have backed Laurel for the Falmouth. I think the DoC was easily as good as the Coronation.

Holloway Boy was eye catching in the Hunt Cup. Last one off the bridle. Still cruising 2 out + didn't get the clearest of runs, before staying on to finish 5th.
Horse needs this top of the ground + probably a straight course.
I have him in mind for the Cambridgeshire.

Agree about Holloway Boy. Cambs looks ideal.

Aurora Dawn from the KP. This filly has the bad habit of being slow from the gate - she was tardy here and in the Wild Tiger race at Goodwood. I'd like to see her stepped up to 10 (New Approach is the damsire) where this habit won't be quite as harmful.

Just watched the Hunt Cup several times.

I can't agree about Holloway Boy not getting the clearest of runs. He was one of the last to come off the bridle but I didn't see anything much at all in the way of his way through being blocked to the extent that he didn't get a run. He was switched right a little but it didn't appear to affect his momentum. On the other hand, I'm giving Coeur D'Or a 4lbs mark-up to reflect the run he got.
