I think this system has been appropriately named, as it will be lucky to last that long 😃.

Staking Plan

4/1 - 5/1 = 4.00pts win or 3.25pts ew
11/2 - 13/2 = 2.75pts win or 2.50pts ew
7/1 - 8/1 = 2.25pts win or 2.00pts ew
17/2 - 19/2 = 2.00pts win or 1.50pts ew
10/1 - 12/1 = 1.50pts win or 1.25pts ew

There will also be saver bets, where points used will be stated. BOG Bookies only are used.

Selection's for August 1st will follow shorty, please don't give me a pinch and a punch (lol).

Making a profit of 0.38pts, in other words a saver. Which if anyone is actually betting on these selections would hopefully realise was the attention. If they had not realised, then there would be a loss of 3.12pts instead of the 0.38pts profit.

I will try and avoid such errors in the future.
 
I admire your seemingly endless enthusiasm for these systems, and coming up with such a long list every day. It must take a lot of work. I wish you well with it throughout August, and hopefully beyond.

I don’t know how you make your selections (and it wouldn’t interest in as far as these are not often the kind of race I look at), however, I don’t understand the reasoning behind a staking plan based upon the price of the horse when you back it. Isn’t it better to increase/reduce stakes based upon the confidence you have in a selection? Or the value you think you might be getting?

Using the logic of your plan, as far as I see it, would mean if I strongly fancied a longshot, say for example Rhoscolyn (I didn’t actually fancy it - but didn’t know Danny Tudhope had switched to it), I would have had a small stake on it at 33/1 and 40/1, but if I had missed the price and it was backed into quite a short price, then I’d have put quite a bit more on. Same horse, same race.

Why not just have confidence in your selection and bet, sensibly, but according to the chance you think it has and not the price?

Thank you for replying Mr Whatoxo, you are right I do and have spent a lot of time on this. Believe me I have been on the point of quitting this present effort of a system on a number of occasions. But 'I think' there is something odd about it. I won't bore you with the detail now, the Mrs is requiring my attention (lol). Hopefully result's will prove I am correct 😉.
 
A small loss today.

Balance = -3.35pts

In my previous system threads, I have saying I am thinking of taking weekends off, because there have been too many qualifying races. This is not the case this weekend, but I feel in need of a break. I am also busy playing crown green bowls, so I will return to annoy you on Monday 😃.
 
Bowls is not until 2pm, and it's not too busy, so I have given it a go. Tomorrow might be more awkward.

I must admit I feel a bit deflated at the moment. Today was an excellent day for 3rd in the ratings including a 66/1 winner. So how come I/you ask I ended up 21.00pts down today 🤔.

What I know for sure is that, relentless Alex is definitely going to take tomorrow off, and next Saturday will be just be backing the 3rd horse in the ratings 😀.

I may, or may not be back on Monday 😳.
 
A case of after timing I am afraid. I woke up early this morning. And thought what the hell I would give this another go. I am using bottom 3 today and 3rd place tomorrow.

Can you explain why you are compiling ratings and using what's in the bottom three?

What are your ratings? How do you compile them?
 
Please excuse my late answer to your interest. Believe me when I have not looked yet at Today's results. Apart from the 2pm result I have not got a clue, at this moment in time I don't care, but probably will do once I have looked (lol). I have just come back from a funeral of a wonderful man.

The ratings I have received for approx 10 years now, are from a Guy I met on line. I got lucky 10 years ago, and I thought I had cracked it, so I gave his sons football team 25% of my winnings. He has since supplied me with ratings for free, ever since then I have tried to make them work. At a guess I have broken even, they have kept me on the straight and narrow, god knows where I would be without them. The one that I am using now (there are 4). Forwhatever reason seems to work with handicaps declared 8 - 11 runners. Monday to Friday bottom 3 of the ratings, Saturday 3rd from top. Sunday not sure, thinking of making my day off.

Okay I will now go and look at Today's results 😟. I do understand why you would think this is a load of b*******s, I would think the same. Let's see how it goes, in my opinion there's nothing to loose.

This suggests to me, Alex, that you do not keep profit/loss records.

For anyone, especially someone using such a numbers-based system, to not keep accounting records astonishes me.

As previously stated elsewhere, I keep itemised P/L and ROI records for all 15 projects I'm engaged with in 2025.

I'm having a very moderate year tbh - when I did my regular Sunday night weekly accounting last Sunday my ROI across all activity aggregated was just 2.2%, compared to 8.8% at the end of 2024.

Pretty poor, but at least I know I'm not losing thus far as I know exactly where I stand.

It sounds like you enjoy what you're doing - and there's a value in that itself as you might otherwise have another pastime which would cost you more money - but not keeping exact records renders the whole exercise pointless from my perspective.
 
Believe me Ian, I do keep profit/loss records, if anything that's my problem, I don't know how to have fun 🙃.

I have just watched Today's races, and will look at today's profit/loss now, and will post that in a minute. I realise I should not after time on bets. One thing you will get with me is total honesty, I hate dishonesty, bullshit etc etc.
 
Don't get me wrong, Alex, it makes no difference to me what your P/L is, consequently I'm not really interested what it is, but it does make a difference to you, so I'm glad for your sake, not mine, that you do keep records, hence you do know where you stand.
 
I think stating what I am staking would help. Please understand, my stake is a lot to do with my own situation, but I suggest anyone that wants to follow this does the same. I bet £1.00 a point.

I think that produced a profit of 22.77pts, please forgive me if my maths is wrong, alcohol and maths has never combined well for me 😃. Tomorrow there will be 19 handicap races that have 8 - 11 declared runners. Because it's Saturday, I will selecting the 3rd place horse in the ratings (+ joint 3rd). This is very much hit and miss, so will be win bets only. I promise no after timing tomorrow 👍.

After all that, I ended up +1.25pts, again temptation got in the way. I should have left Ascot team event alone. If I had done, instead of +1.25, I would be looking at +24.75pts 😔. I am not sure about tomorrow, I am tempted as always 😅. But I have got an early start to a bowls tournament. I am not sure which to use on Sundays, 3rd position or bottom 3. I would probably go 3rd position, but perhaps I should use tomorrow as test paper day 🤔.

Ian, I hope I did not curse your selection's (lol). I have been to watch my team play at their brand new stadium today, it was magnificent. Unfortunately I cursed the result, although the legends won 2-0 with 69 year old Peter Reid still strutting his stuff.
