What did you go with in the end, Galileo?

I was looking around at the same thing last night. A lot of the more popular sites you have to be a member before you can scout around and see what's available for download, or what you're becoming a member of. My interest in music sort of stuck in the eighties and went into a time reverse from there on in - so I really have little interest in sites that cater exclusively for the masses.

Amazon, Itunes et al are fine but the sort of music I want to download is about as expensive as buying a CD in HMV - much of the stuff I like is to be found in the bargain buckets.

Grey's site looks ideal but I am a little wary of giving a credit card number to a Russian site that seems to verge menacingly close to crossing the line of legitimacy.
