Of all time, just announced on Radio 2. Don't know if they mean in this country or the western world but suspect the latter.
Who would you expect to be the top 3 (no cheating if you heard the show!!)?
 
Yeah, they're talking albums here.

I already knew so won't spoil it, but its even more amazing when you consider the number one selling female has only ever released three albums
 
Madonna has to b the top, there can b no 1 else. im pretty sure Dido is running up there with her middle of road nothin type of sound.


Personally, i never understand y PJ Harvey never gets the recognition she deserves, also that Katie Melua is not v good at all, i mean not at all, for that type of music she does, Beth Orton Kathryn Williams, a girl called eddie and Feist is so much better than her, it just shows how much radio can decide the charts, i seriously dont know who buys Katie Melua!!

Shadow..... where on earth did you get Britney Spears from ?!? :o I'd find hard to have place in the top 20, let alone the top 3. Even the likes of Celine Dion :blink: will have sold more than her !!!
 
I don't know who number 2 and 3 is but there is no doubt whatsoever that Shania Twain is the best selling female artist of all time.
 
Alanis Morissette sold about 17 trillion albums and did nothing afterwards.

....the awful Mariah Carey and Madonna to make up the three.
