Betfair Chase Haydock Park Sat Nov 20th 2021

What a total ignoramus that Chapman is. Yes, we all struggled to make out everything Michael Winters was saying but there was no need to make something of it.

If he'd said it to a Chinese or South-Asian person he'd be sacked.

What rating would a 20l defeat of a 163 rated handicapper expect to get?

Doubt if they will change his rating by much and they certainly wont drop him 10lbs. More chance a Plus Tard will go up 3 or 4 lbs which is irrelevant
As I said the horse was out on his feet his jockey having made more use of him than normal.

It fell apart long before then, DO.

Waiting Patiently was already toiling before Imperial had himself on the deck, and BDM was beaten before they exited the back straight.

I think we have to ask what caused it to fall apart rather than where.

Did RP force BDM to go too fast on the first lap?

Why wouldn't those good horses keep up with the pace?

Hard to believe they're just donkeys.

That was a proper performance from the winner.

The way he just breezed alongside Royal Pagaille 4 out, was brilliant. Cracking performance from a horse that has just kept on improving.

Several horses better on softer. Several non-stayers also. Only one horse able to go the pace, jump well off it, and finish a 3m race.

Aye, word for word indeed. Just goes to show the futility of even looking for something to beat the class horse of the race

To be fair, it was you who brought up where it fell apart.

Those that weren’t hopelessly outclassed, were either out-of-form in the previous season, or didn’t act on the ground.

Beyond that, there’s not much else to say, imo……other than the winner is very, very good, of course.

I'm with Grassy on this being a pig of a race and you'd want to be breezing along against these to have any chance in a Gold Cup

Anyone that wasnt bowled over by that performance is just trying too hard to be clever, it was an awesone performance for this time of the year.

As for the amount of revisionism, Grassy apart to be fair, you would have to laugh!

Politically it would be the correct decision -from a form point of view it will probably be the correct decision. The question is do you really want to be getting off Minella Indo at a course that brings out the best in him.

Talking about Chetenham Bristol De Mai has never won there, if fact he hasn't won for 4 years after the Betfair, has lost 2 from 2 in the Cotswold Chase, but it seems he wont be retired and will be asked to have another go. He has picked up almost 50k in place money round there but I have a feeling this will be his swan song.
