My Panasonic CF T1 laptop is playing up again .

After working perfectly OK after an earlier repair this morning it won't start . It displays that screen with the four options Start Windows Normally , Last Good Configuration etc - but no matter what option tried it just chugs and announces - far too fast to read in one go

c0000218 Registry File Failure
The registry cannot load the file
SYSTEM ROOT/kernel32/config/SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate
It is corrupt absent or not writable

Beginning dump of physical memory

Anyone have any ideas. it suggests new software might be a problem but the only new software is a printer installed without a hitch five weeks ago and an update of AVG Anti Virus

Ardross, if you press and hold down F8 as it starts to boot, you should get the option to load everything one step at a time. Might help you pinpoint where the error lies.

Thanks mark - I logged on and someone had posted the same question - looks like I have to go through a hideously complicated procedure to get it back !
