Way to go Slim!
That the SP was the same as the advised price must mean we do not take you seriously enough YET
Lesson learned by all by now for sure.
Top Man !!

This occurred to me too.

You put it up here early. The Weekender was tipping it right, left and centre, including Tom Segal.

Why was it allowed to go off at 12/1? I can't imagine that happening if the same scenario happened with a big UK race. Is there something about the market in Ireland that's different? Do the UK bookies just shorten things up regardless of the true market?

I also couldn't believe Snake Eyes was favourite. How often do good UK horses win these races? Did the Irish punters just latch on to JP/AP/NJH? Did the Irish bookies skilfully steer the punters on to it?

You raise some very good points. Ireland is a very strange market where they usually only want one or two horses. The drift made no sense. She was 17 on the Betfair SP. Those algorithm boys on Betfair eh?

Thanks... now I feel as though I've lost!

I was away in Pitlochry all weekend, and the 3G (you can fkin forget 4G) signal was weaker than a Flat jockey's erection. I only managed to get a bet away about 15 minutes before the off, and copped 16.5.

God bless you EE, and your shi*tty coverage of the frozen north.

I got 17, clearly around the same time as Grassy when I remembered Slim dogs tip. I was surprised at the price.

Ironically I'll watch the markets more on Irish than UK races, more to spot the non triers though, hence my surprise....

She went off 3.6 to finish in the first 4 meaning an e/w bet at SP 4 or 5 places was a +EV bet.
