Victoria Beckham has given birth to a boy whose chosen name is Cruz.

If that is incorrect, blame my other arf !

I thought it was after a Mexican poet who was reknown lyricist.

Don't these people think of what problems they are lumbering their kids with in later life, can you imagine what piss taking there will be with their son Romeo ?

I didn`t know they`d been on that big yacht that had been stuck in Southampton
all that time. They were obviously the ones who shelled out 40 grand.

I doubt that their names will bring about piss-taking. It is highly unlikely they will mingle with the sort of people who resort to ridiculing someone's name.

They will be mingling with other kids. It doesn't matter where they are from, they will take the piss.

I think if anyone with the name Romeo came into contact with anyone other than someone called Juliet will cetainly have the p*ss taken out of them

Some people are just so blinkered at times.

PDJ, I can understand your position having never set foot outside Birmingham before, but 221bar1 I refuse to accept that you are as blinkered, having been all over the planet in your time.

It is not a rule that kids (universally and in all social circles) make fun of other kids' names.

Seriously surprised at you Phil, children with any handicap are the ones who are the main targets for abuse and having the name Romeo IMHO would count as a handicap.

In todays world children who stand above the rest intellectually are abused simply because they stand out.

Phil, 4 years in Liverpool and 2 years in Lyon for me so that is a misguided post. Equally I have had more contact with children that you have ever had and I can tell you with absolute certainty, children with silly names will have the micky taken out of them the world over.

I would in fact say that the children in "better" social classes are often worse.

Erm Phil, that post just goes to show that you appear to be the blinkered one......don't have much contact with kids, do you?

221bar1 - Why are you surprised? Are you implying that I would know what it is like to be a handicapped child? :D

PDJ - Erm.....I was being sarcastic with you about not having set foot outside Birmingham.....had a rough day? Also, how can you say you have had more contact with children than I have ever had if you know absolutely nothing about me?

Shadow Leader - . Show me some evidence (and not your opinion) that shows me to be wrong.

Kids are always incredibly cruel to each other, you don't have to spend much time with them to work that one out. Evidence? Apart form anything else bullying is absolutely rife amongst kids & continues to grow, that is well known.

Phil, from what I know of you, the only handicap you have where the p*ss could be extracted is you being a forum member :P

Shadow, that isn't evidence, that is merely an observation interpreted by you. It could easily be interpreted the other way by someone else.

And where exactly will Beckham's kids be growing up? If it is Spain, tell me what you know of Spanish children playground behaviour?

well your out of your depth regards talking about bullying and kids in general I would have thought that P being a teacher would known just a little more than you are likely to know.... regards their behavior when together ..........

that's what I am on about!!!!............... :P

Phil, I know you have no kids as you have previously stated as much so I reckon that it was a fair comment that I have more contact with children than you. Please tell me why I am wrong if indeed I am. If not, don't deliberately start arguments for the sake of it, it isn't very becoming.

Just because he is a teacher doesn't mean he knows more about how society works.

Merlin are you of the opinion that because Frankie Detorri rides a horse, he therefore knows more about horseracing than those who don't?

I don't recall saying that I knew more about society, merely more about kids, which I do based on respective experience.

You're having a laugh aren't you?

And the point I am making is this - the experience you have being a teacher in the area you teach, does that experience of how kids behave have any bearing on the social circles Beckham's kids will be members of?

And if you think "kids are kids no matter where they come from"...I'd like to see some evidence of this.
