I have a very different view.

He was one of the worst presidents ever and as an ex president I dont think he has a 10 per cent of the influence you credit him.

Come off it, his immediate neighbours Ford and Reagen were far worse.

A Quinnipiac University poll, taken May 23-30, 2006, asked 1,534 registered American voters to pick the best U.S. President of the last 61 years.

Jimmy Carter came joint fifth with Dwight Eisenhower, behind Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton. John Kennedy and Harry Truman.

The same poll also asked for the worst president - George W Bush won with over one-third of the votes.

A Washington College poll about presidential greatness, taken 11 February 2005, asked 800 adults nationwide, "Thinking about all the presidents of the United States throughout history to the present, who would you say was America's greatest president?"

Jimmy Carter came eleventh in the poll.

A Gallup poll about presidential greatness, taken 7-10 February 2005, asked 1008 adults nationwide, "Who do you regard as the greatest United States president?"

Jimmy Carter was ninth.

An ABC News poll about presidential greatness, taken 16-20 February 2000, asked 1012 adults nationwide, "Who do you think was the greatest American president?"

Jimmy Carter was thirteenth.

So it seems that Americans certainly don't consider him anything like "the worst president ever".

However hard I look I can't find a poll of Spanish conservatives on the subject.

prince regent: Zionist expansionism has caused a diaspora of Palestinians of which Israel, home to many sufferers of brutish displacement, should be appalled. But of course it isn't. It's actually very pleased to have ILLEGALLY EXPANDED its 1967 borders, shoving out the LEGALLY SETTLED Palestinians to wherever they could get shelter. That was, and STILL IS, Jordan. Palestinians left 'Palestine' after 1948 and have taken up Jordanian nationality since then, legally and very profitably for Jordan, since they work elsewhere (the rich, rich, rich Gulf states for a start), and build lovely homes and big businesses back in Jordan, which boosts that country's economy. They have also been welcomed to a variety of non-Arab and non-Muslim countries (since, as I imagine you have SOME idea, not all Palestinians are Muslims??), where they practise as professors, surgeons, lawyers and in other middle-class professions. These countries include Britain, Australia, Canada, and YES, even America! :o

You do like to muddy the waters with some highly inaccurate, bald statements, pr.
