Created a good impression when winning over seven furlongs at Newcastle in November on his only start last season. Brooklyn is a half brother to an Irish maiden winner over 1m 3f, and to the French trained Black Gem who was runner up over as far as two miles, so one would imagine that he may well be suited to trips of at least ten furlongs during 2025. A 175k euro yearling who looks a fair bet to progress at three, and could be a fair bit better than that one outing as a juvenile.

He's pretty smart but we're not in a huge rush. He's one for the mid-summer and he did his first piece of work last week and showed up pretty well. He'll probably go through the novice system and we'll find a race for him over the next couple of weeks. We can make a clear plan after that on whether he goes the handicap route or steps up to black-type company.

Believing is still very much the star of the show and she looks like she's showing up very nicely this spring and I'm sorry that I just can't split maiden winners Hopewell Rock and Brooklyn, who are the two colts putting their heads up above the parapet. They've shown me enough to suggest they'd have some entries in some decent races.
