Bryony Frost

Great stuff from Bryony there giving her horse time to recover after that potentially race-ending blunder

Beautiful ride. Interesting they made about the sun. It could well have been a factor.

Don't want to put all the females into the same category, but rather than starting a new thread....I thought the ride Brigit Andrews gave Favoir a class ride at Haydock (no financial involvement) but horse not helping on the run - awkward head carriage and wanting to lug in behind - have seen many jockeys get that wrong. Thought it was a class finish.

All the other's jumped it perfectly well. It was an uninformed throwaway comment from MF and will no doubt help the ongoing drive to sterility in sport.

Yours, grumpily,

AC

I thought that was an absolutely brilliant ride...I think by her reaction , her heart was in her mouth that she was actually going to get there.

They said the owner not keen on the GN but, and I know easy to say as not my horse but oh go on! PLEASE!! If ever a horse deserves a go at it. Can you imagine the reaction if a crowd could be there to see it? Could be one of the most remembered days in NH racing history.

I actually assumed he’d been moved to the Nichols yard so that Bryony could ride him in the National. It just seemed to me that they are a perfect combination for the race. Other than that I don’t understand why he would have been switched. Venetias owners are usually pretty loyal to her.

I think I remember something being written at the time it was just to give a change of scene/freshen him up etc.

The horse falling at the 1st in the Becher won’t give connections much encouragement to go for the National

Don’t anyone tell me that horses don’t run for her or that she’s given the best horses to ride. Again that was a superb ride.

Bryony’s ride was every bit as good as Cobden’s was over-confident. I reckon he thought he would just pick her up between the last two - dangerous game when you’re up against a horse who runs through the line like Secret Investor.
