Think we all need some festive spirit  its a bit early for me so mines a coffee with extra coffee mate in it

Whats yours?

Extra Coffeemate? :o Blimey, that's living a bit close to the edge, isn't it? :D Insomnia struck again last night, so it was Cadbury's Belgian Choc 'Options' at 5.00 a.m. for me - yes, I know how to live it up!

Oddly enough, I was nattering with Songsheet a few days back and we agreed that there's nothing quite like the run-up to Christmas to bring out all the arguments! It seems to work like a charm every year.

I like the thought of a hot chocolate but it usually disappoints.

I got one from the local coffee shop on Monday. A couple of dessertspoonfuls of chocolate powder added to milk and blasted through the capuccino steamer, another couple of spoons mixed in, followed by a spray of that sweetened fake cream stuff, mixed in as well. Fantastic thick texture, looked brilliant, smelt brilliant, tasted vile.

Never bothered with hot choc until recently, I was given a Tassimo for my birthday & the Suchard hot choccy that comes with that is lovely, lovely machine but I carry on drinking the amount of tea, coffee & hot choc I have been drinking I'm going to need a second mortgage

:o snap and the occasional glass of lemonade but coffee is my everyday drink......

Mel - I agree with you. The Belgian Choc is actually quite good, especially as I use about 5-6 heaped teaspoons and a splosh of milk. I think if there's too much other stuff chucked on board, it tends to weaken what's already a fairly lightweight taste. I used to drink huge amounts of coffee when I was office-working full time, but now it's tea, tea, tea! Twining's Every Day at the moment and yes, I have given it to my decorator... :D

I was given a box of Chinese Green Tea, o/b, which is supposedly good for sensitive digestions. It's quite pleasant, regardless of any digestif properties it might have. As a caffeine-free but hearty tea, have you tried Rooibos (Redbush) Tea from South Africa? It's got a v. slightly smoky flavour, but it's very pleasant and you won't feel all wound up after drinking it, but still refreshed.

I'll join the hot chocolate brigade, with a dash of Baileys and some squirty cream. Yum :D The kids finish school today for the holidays so maybe I'll celebrate with a G&T later.

..........is "celebrate" the right word, Griffin?
Oh definitely. I love it when they're all at home and cry when they go back to school. Most people think I'm mad! Whats not to be happy about? I don't have to get up early until January 4th :D

We're having our TTF syndicate Chrimbo 'lunch' today, which should descend into the customary chimps tea-party before long (my spread is 16:18 - 16:31).

Guiness, Margerita's, plonk rouge, plonk blanc, Mojito's, Jack D and all manner of other intoxicating and refreshing beverages are on the menu.

Strictly no hot-chocolate.

I'm the only person in my office who never drinks tea or coffee and I get treated like a leper.

I only drink water or wine :D
