If he has then things have changed somewhat.
Last time I saw him on the racecourse (getting on for two years now
) it seemed to be a one-man operation. He was leading the horse up and when she won her jockey had to take the presentation because Alan was leading the horse away to wash her down.
I must say I felt sorry for him that day and just a touch admiring.
