I wonder if the same would be said if a poster had stated that they hoped to see Saint Obama die of cancer ....say

I am not going to get involved in discussion about moderation, but the simple answer is there would be no difference as long as the remark was made as a validly held opinion and not put forward purely to antagonise or provoke reaction (ie trolling).

I do not for one minute believe that a thread kicking off with the offensive but equivlaent example i suggested would last for one minute on here

My intent on starting the topic was a discussion on the nature of attention hunting celebrities and why? We all have opinions on Lady T, but all are well rehearsed.
 
My abiding memory of Carol Thatcher is the programme she did on the Falkland War. During it she met the mothers of the Argentinian sailors killed on the Belgrano. She had no answer at all to their moving and passionate, as well as being well argued and convincing, denunciation of her mother`s conduct in that disgraceful episode. They said she would suffer for what she had done to their sons. It looks like they have been proved right.

I recalled that myself Dan, she was a total embarrasment. I also remember her mother the week after the Brighton bomb caught outside a church crying. "I suddenly realised this was a day I was not meant to see" she said. Pity she hadn't been in the same frame of mind when she decided to blow all those wee boys off the face of the earth.

Sheikh, I don't think Kathy has offended the mods in relation to saying they won't move what grasshopper said, because it's still there and Galileo has said there's nothing wrong with it or anything else on the thread, so Kathy was perfectly right in her assumption. Besides, there could be a few reasons why Kathy said that; one could be she suspected the mods wouldn't move it, the other could be she has lost the faith in relation to what goes on on this board. That is sad, and I think people blatently trying to upset people with the type of assumptions you've made need warning.

As for "getting the topic" back to it's title, usually when threads like this are started people give their condolences - at this rate we'll be praising the day she dies. The thread by definition, is unworkable, and some people played up to that in truly grand fashion.

No agenda whatsoever, and certainly not trying to shit stir. Just think your comment was a classic example of slanderous accusations directed to hurt other people. Again I ask, where did Kathy insult all the contributors and moderators on this thread? If it was by presuming Grasshoppers statement would be accepted by the mods then i'm sorry to say for arguments sake it was, so I guess that is self explanatory.

That's a huge compliment to all the mods and contributiors isn't it ? Or are you really just a bit pissed off because someone had a go at Maggie and you didn't want to have a go at the electorate so you decided to have a go at Paddy instead in good old fashioned Tory tradition ?
