Celebrity Big Brother

....and that accent!!!!!!!! :angy:
Don't get me started!!! I know its not nice, but he does make me feel sick when I see him. Even if i did whack him with a shovel, I think it'll do the shovel more damage!

After George's verbal attack on Barrymore last night he MUST be evicted tonight. That's George not Barrymore. I usually hate Big Brother but have found myself watching it off and on this time. I think either Preston or Maggot may well win, although Chantelle, even though she is a bit of an airhead at times, is certainly holding her own in there. Barrymore clearly has "issues" and he had every opportunity to completely lose the plot with "Georgeous George", who was baiting him, but he didn't. I am not sure what this programme will do for Barrymore's long term health prospects BUT so far, he is holding himself together... just!

I watched this last night.

At the start of the series I had expected that Galloway's place in the house would be a purely political vote. The anti war gang voting to keep him in, and the pro war lobby voting him out, with the normal public vote regarding his performance in the house being irrelevant. He's making such a prat of himself though, I reckon the anti war lobby will be as keen to get him out quickly before he does any more harm, while the pro war crowd would love him to stay till the bitter end.

I can't understand what Rodman is doing there. He has no financial reason to do it. I can only imagine he thought it would be fun.

I wonder also about Barrymore. In earlier episodes he looked vulnerable to the point of cracking up. Last night he looked less so, as if the earlier traumas were just an act to get the sympathy votes.

It's hard to get an idea of who will win. They are all so enthrallingly dislikeable. If Galloway survives tonight, it may well be that his campaign buddies will roll in behind him sufficiently to overcome his abysmal behaviour. Chantelle is living the teeny boppers dream which may overcome her airhead tendancies. Rodman looks the closest to normal, but normality probably isn't a virtue in this programme.

Rodman and George out. George looked quite shocked at the coverage he had been getting and was clearly upset for being booted out. In his words "he doesn't like losing elections." He is a complete and utter fool. He did himself no favours at all going into the house and I didn't like him much before he went in, and I like him even less now. As for the swearing, uncouth Dennis Rodman (who?) well they really don't come much ruder than he is, which is probably why he got on so well with Galloway.

Evidently, Rodman is one of 41 children (unless I misheard that particular gem of information) and was dragged up in The Bronx. Ahhh, perhaps I should then excuse his disgusting language, his sexist comments, his extremely large ego, his laziness and most of all his continual rudeness to everyone around him.

Good bye and good riddance to both of them.

Dennis Rodman (who?)

Rodman was one of the highest paid basketball players of his era. One of the best players, combined with having a "bad boy" entertainment value. Unless he shared his fortune amongst his 40 siblings he must be incredibly wealthy, which makes it hard to understand why he would be bothered with this show. He is never likely to be famous in the UK and the show is unlikely to be shown in the states.

Melendez, one of his "claims to fame" is being Madonna's boyfriend at some stage in the 90's. He has been offered a position playing for a basketball team in Milton Keynes. I think it may have been a bit of a wind up. I don't think Rodman would know where Milton Keynes was - or even care. He is probably rich beyond our wildest dreams, and the only reason I can think he could have accepted the invite into the BB house was to make himself known (or famous) in the UK. Something to do with his extremely large ego I would imagine.

Without doubt, Preston uses the F word more than the rest put together and I'll bet his parents are proud of him.

Strange isn't it, that some people expect swearing from some"youngsters" but not from the older generation. I admit Preston's language is colourful at times, but I put that down to him being in a band and his generation do tend to swear more. Sadly, a sign of the times. As for Rodman. His mouth was foul. Possibly he could defend it by saying it is the language of The Bronx, but not really suitable for national TV, even if it is after the watershed - and just not acceptable anywhere. Not a good example to set even if you are a multi millionaire. But like he kept saying at EVERY opportunity... "I don't give a shit". The sooner he goes back to the US the better.

We're only trying to take attitudes on language in Britain back to pre-Victorian times (when it was culturally acceptable to swear like a trooper).

I'm on fairly safe ground in declaring that your great-great etc grandfather (being born in the Georgian era?) was known to exclaim such beauties as "Tell the fucking gardener to tend to those bastarding shrubs immediately or I'll cut his frigging cock off".

Why the big attack on Rodman Kathy? He's no worse or better than most of the others in there.

but I put that down to him being in a band

Of course - that's a very valid excuse for swearing compared to being brought up in a ghetto (I think it was South Central LA as opposed to the Bronx btw).

Markee, I just found him a repulsive individual. Manners cost nothing, and he severely lacked even the very basics. He is everything I detest in people. Large ego, bad manners, foul mouth, rude, sexist and full of his own self importance. Obviously, Madonna found something about him attractive and as he purposrts to having slept with over 2000 women I am sure she is not alone. He is evidently a very talented basketball player so fair play to him for that but he is certainly not a person I would ask children to look up to... apart from him being 6'8" tall! :D

For the record, I am sure he wouldn't look twice at me either. B)

Dennis Rodman:-
"He went on to marry the beautiful Carmen Electra , in what seemed to be a staged promotional stunt for media attention. His many brushes with the law also add to his rebellious attitude, which has earned him the media exposure he profits from."

The internet is great for looking up a few facts on people you know little about previously.... B) By the way, sounds like a really nice guy!

Here are a list of Dennis' Fines and Suspensions:

1. Headbutted John Stockton during a pre-season game. Got a 2 game suspesnsion and a $25,000 fine. (as a piston)

2. Headbutted Stacy King during a pre-season game. Got a 1 game suspension and was fined $35,000. (as a piston)

3. Fined $15,000 dollars for not showing up to a pre-season game. (as a Spur)

4. Suspended 3 games for screaming at his coach. (as a Spur)

5. Suspended for the remainder of the season, for walking away from the Spurs after they had activated him. (as a Spur)

6. Headbutted a refree, got a 6 game suspension and a $65,000 fine. (as a bull)

7. Kicked a cameraman. Had to pay a $200,000 dollar settlement. Lost $200,000 in incentives, and was suspened for 11 games (as a bull)

8. Shouted explicits at mourmouns during the 1997 Nba Finals. Fined $50,000. (as a bull)

9. Showed up to practice as drunk as a mule, before the bulls. vs. Utah Jazz game fined $10,000, and lost about $100,000 off his contract in incentives. (as a bull)

:D

.....and to think that George Galloway, Pete Burns and Dennis Rodway "apparently" became best of buddies in the BB house. The mind boggles. Perhaps it's because (to some) they could all be described as social misfits?

I wonder if George knew much about Dennis before entering the house ie. his lifestyle, his passion for headbutting people and his arrests. If he didn't, I bet he does now!

He's a fantastic basketball player Gearoid, I cannot deny that BUT "apparently" he really is a thug of the highest order. Strangely enough he is probably as famous in the USA now for being a "bad boy" with multi coloured hair as he is for helping to make basketball one of the best loved sports in America. He has also "evidently" been treated for his addictions in the past too. I suppose sleeping with over 2000 women could be an addiction but I am not quite sure that's the one he was being "treated" for.

ive been wondering.. is he broke or why did he do this? hes bound to borth millions, im talkin 100s of millions? anyone know?

With a salary of $12.9 million, including endorsements, Rodman ranked ninth on Forbes' list of highest paid athletes for 1996.

Well the non celeb Chantelle won, with Michael Barrymore in 2nd place, Maggot 3rd and Preston 4th - for anyone who gives a sh*t!! :P
