This doesn't have any effect on the size of the Festival as it is NOT an official race and cannot become part of a card. I can't stress that enough.
 
The synic in me says Eddie Gillespie will be more than happy to keep the bars open for an extra half an hour after opening the course and the first race being half an hour earlier.

As for these types of races, they have absolutely no place at the Festival. Maybe not an official race but certainly further dilution of the quality and has been consistently the case for the last five years.
