Charlie Hall Day

I lost the faith a little on CC last year, but it's fantastic to see him in the winners enclosure again. Just watched the replay and he didn't put a foot wrong. CC has is own way of doing things (skewing over the odd fence, high head carriage etc.), but that is him & he stayed the 3m really well on ground that was probably a little too soft for him. Also seemed to enjoy having Paddy Brennan on board. Not getting carried away, but is great to have him back...

Was in flight when the CH was run...............absolutely great to see Cue Card bounce back.

Haven't seen the replay yet but it's on my bucket list

It was only just over a year ago that it was announced Daryl Jacob was to be Cue Card's jockey, was there any reason for the relatively quick change of plan ? DJ had four rides at Ascot yesterday, but I'm not aware of any retainer connected to any of those rides.

Really got Cue Card wrong yesterday, thought he was far too short and couldn't believe he was going off as the jolly. Fair play to him, great round and nice ride from Paddy Brennan.

There's two ways of looking at yesterday's win. Either CC will blow up in his next run, as yet another injury is discovered. Or that we shouldn't have expected anything different other than a win for a fully fit CC off 11stone. He was, after all, the second best horse in training before his injuries.

Does DJ have some sort of retainer for Simon Munir? He was riding Romulus Du Donjon in those silks at Ascot yesterday and I seem to think he rode Bristol De Mai last season.

Last season the arrangement was for Jacob to ride for Simon Munir except the Nicky Henderson first string Munir horses of which Barry G had first pick, If anything it will benefit DJ more this season with Geraghty taking the job with JP.
