Have a points scoring system based on the starting price, i run a league elsewhere

Odds on winner= 0 pts
Winner priced between Evs and under 2-1= 1pt
Winner priced between 2-1 and under 4-1= 2pts
Winner priced between 4-1 and under 10-1= 3pts
Winner over 10-1= 4pts

Placed horse between 4-1 and under 10-1= 1pt
Placed horse over 10-1= 2pts

Scoring system designed to encourage tipping bigger priced horses

Wilson not getting the outright on either of them haha. Fuming.

If forums still around next year we can go with both maybe. Ill think up a better prize make it interesting, maybe a trophy of sort.

Yeah, would probably have to have two separate threads for each comp, i think players would pick differently with the points rewards for bigger priced picks

We could try it for Royal Ascot and see how it goes

I hibernate in the summer, flat just isn’t my game. Devote a lot of time to the jumps, be relentless all year round. Might do an Aintree one if there’s interest

Stopped clocks have their uses after all.
 
Great stuff DJ and without wishing to offend I really prefer your idea compared to Truncheons.

When it is based on price people tend to pick horses they think might win rather than horses they think will win.

I think there's more skill and 'game play' with my points scoring system, any old goat can pick a 1/3 fav
 
Well done Dan, I was clinging on like Crisp in that comp. Unlucky Granger too, I’ve no doubt one more race and I’d have been beaten outright.

Well done to all of the top 3 great perfromances. I never thought anyone would catch you Wilson......It was like we all missed the flag fall and you got a 20 length start in a horse race:lol:
