Along with Cheltmental and Jaime Wrenn, I recently recorded a whole bunch of post-Christmas Cheltenham antepost updates, which I'm posting for you guys who like watching them. All feedback is good feedback. If you have any thoughts, views, agree, or disagree with any of the suggestions let me know. Hopefully they can spark a bit of pre-Festival debate now we're only 9 weeks away.

Yes I've seen the Banbridge entry. 20/1 is now easily the best value antepost bet out there right now.

Bottom Euro. It's me that's suggests Banbridge when we get an entry.

What chance you guys give a horse like Gary Moore's Le Patron of lining up in the Plate?

His mark now would be more than enough to get in the race, and although at first I thought it couldn't be a target, I see plenty novices have taken in the race in recent history.

I think he's more likely to turn up in the Arkle Martin. He's a 150 horse now, and take Marine Nationale out you wouldn't be excited about anything else.

I think you also have to consider that he seems to have benefitted from stepping back to 2 miles off an end to end gallop too.

Gary Moore doesn't strike me as the type who'd run a Grade 1 winning novice in a handicap. Could be wrong.

As for the Sil Conti chase, very interesting market:

Pic D 9/4 - carries a penalty
Edwardstone - 5/2 - Alan King plus 10 now
Banbridge 11/4 - Will he get his ground should win if he does but might need the race
Notlongtilmay - 8/1 - Was on my tracker last year and my proviso was he'll be a better horse LH. No way this horse will like Kempton
Janadil 10/1 - Not an earthly. Penalty as well
Elixir du Nutx 12/1 - I think he's on the point of having too many tough races
Thunder Rock 14/1 - Small field horse, likes this sort of track. Bet.

I'm assuming Banbridge will need the race too. The safe play is an SP favourite or SP 2nd favourite onto Banbridge at the Festival double. If he's fully tuned up Banbridge will go off favourite. And if not it's usually a favourites race, and will be won either Pic or Edwardstone. The fitness of JO'B horses is usually easy to read from the market.

A few bookies getting the horses name wrong on the plate market, E. G naming the horse as 'La Patron' instead of the correct name, Le Patron. Skybet take it a step further, offering 16/1 on the horse with no such name, La Patron, and then 20s on the horse with the right name, Le Patron.

Come on bookies, get your act together. I can't stand incompetence, especially from these lot.
