Cheltenham Open Meeting thread

Cracking novice chase. I was really taken by Masters Hill chase debut, looked a natural as did Sraid Parraig at Limerick.

I'm dutching that pair and taking on the front two.

Anthony Knott said: "When Nick Scholfield lets him loose three out, I can't see anything staying with him. I have had £20,000 on him at 10s and 9s."

I love this guys balls....

Not sure if you're going in this big Luke but Mr Knott is either ahead of the game or lucky... Either way both him and his trainer have earned my respect and I'd be wary of taking him on.

Really looking forward to tomorrow's card. I never miss the jumps during the flat season but once the season really gets going it all comes flooding back!

Grey made a point in an earlier thread about the history of the game being littered with big gambling owners who went broke.
I like Knotty but do you think his current prominence is due to owning a horse who improved 70 odd pounds and won a heap of races last season or his shrewd reading of the form book.

Don't think either Medermit or Burton Port were on form that day. Dodgy race.

possibly ..but HB was still on the upgrade then..in fact has never stopped and may well have kept on improving to today and beyond..it seems the upward curve is most likely to continue rather than stop if you look at his form..157 isn't a stopper imo

its a cracking race for sure but i just get a feeling HB will carry on where he left off

He may not be the shrewd one though....

He's just mad enough to back his trainers opinion to the hilt.

I'm backing Hunt Ball because I think he's still ahead of the handicapper. Yard had a winner the other day as well.

Two shocking days for me.Grands Crus didn't help but I think if I was ever to give up punting it would be today and I don't ever remember thinking that before.

I'm having a few quid on Cash and Go for the Racing Post Hurdle on Sunday and laying Darlan. I don't think Darlan will enjoy the soft ground at all and there's no way AP will knock him about if he even gives him a hint of coming off the bridle early doors.

Hard to see Wishful Thinking getting a better opportunity to get back to winning ways than tommorrow. Basically a match with Doeslessthanme on very favourable terms.

Move for Clondaw Knight in the bumper. Would love to see him win and be something to look forward to for the owners after losing Brindisi Breeze.
