Hard to believe next Friday is our Christmas party in work! We have two but this is the official one.Seems very early and always dread them but 99% of the time have a great night.....Christmas is here!!

Coombe Abbey in Coventry for us this year. £45 each which is not quite cheap but it looks like it will be a good evening.

Minimum of 2 a week from here on in, I might as well have an account with my local formal-hire shop.

Due to a glut of holidays, I'm off after this Thursday right through to boxing night. I might find time for a party or two.... B)

Coombe Abbey is fantastic Paul, and £45 will be well worth it. I'd recommend staying over, the hotel is excellent.

Cheers, Maruco. I will look into it but as most of those going live in Coventry, lilely I will end up back at someone's house instead.

Mine is on Friday 15th December, which is like only 3 weeks away, or 15 working days.

We go on a Harbour Cruise around Sydney Harbour, usually moor the boat at the Heads section of Sydney, and jump into the Harbour and swim.

Its a wonderful day, we play golf off the top of the roof of the boat, and "fake" clay trap shooting with plastic pidgeons.

We also then hand out presents to one another etc.

We don't have one anymore. We decided to ask the staff if they would prefer a night out, all expenses paid or the money. They chose the money. Our last Christmas "do" was at Bisham Abbey and we shared the venue with a practice of Solicitors. I was driving so happily watched everyone get completely p**sed, one of them passed out having smoked a cigar (she didn't even smoke), and the others just took about 3 days to get over their hangovers. I took loads of photos and felt brilliant the next day. :D Staff Christmas parties for some people are a mistake.

Grand Armee, I like the sound of your party! B)

Mine is next Saturday. Carvery and a band with lots of alcohol. However peed off as I am with work I shall have to be very careful what I say when I'm drunk. I'm not holding out much hope though.

Grand Armee, your party sounds excellent!

Ah bugger....forgot to let HR I was going to ours - it's in about 10 days time and I think I was supposed to let them know by now I was going! Ah well, I'll be able to sweet talk them around I'm sure. We have ours at the casino, makes for a decent night.

More recorded Great White Shark attacks in Sydney Harbour than anywhere else in the world <_< but don't worry GA, you only need to be the second slowest swimmer in your group

I'm not going to ours. They can shove it up their Mick Ronson fairly hard. :angy:

You work with them (that's enough) without socialising too..... My last party was 15 yrs ago........ I may just have one though, if my luck changes and ERNIE drops one of those 5 million £££ through my letterbox on the 1st DEC;... one can only wish, no form to study there????? :P :)

You would all be welcome along, however the boat only holds around 30 people, which is our entire office.

I am looking forward to it, free alcohol from 9am onwards, and a lot of sea sick pirates by lunch time. :D Around 1pm the golf is starting, and its hilarious watching people try to hit the ball, and in their attempt toss the club out in the water (one sunk last year!). Shooting is good too, glad the guns don't have real ammo in them, because everyone is shooting the guns at each other! At the end, the party continues once we dock the boat at Darling Harbour (around 4pm) and continue on to all the clubs and bars at Cockle Bay Wharf (about 20 of them shouting out to you "COME IN DRINK MORE!").

I will try to take some photos for all of you to see an Australian Christmas Party celebrated in the summer sun under the Harbour Bridge!

If anyone has photos of certain office Christmas parties in the past in which I was concerned I'll leave the money in used notes at a place of your choosing.
