I haven't seen the usual thread, so I thought I'd start one.

Apart from Sean Magee's "Arkle" (of course), a good stocking filler would be:
"Not Minding That It Hurts" by Ian Carnaby. You can get it for £10.99 (inc. p & p) by phoning 0870 4205772 or on Marten Julian's website.

For your average racing insider you can't go wrong with one of the following

A soft hat that belongs to the WWII era.
A white shirt with a small biege check on it
A pair of green wellingtons
A green anorak with a bit of cord in the collar (preferrably sprinkled with dandruff)
A session at a teeth yellowing parlour
A fake handlebar moustache
A trick joby
A whoopee cushion

If it's a horse faced bitch you're purchasing for, just stuff a malteser right up her jacksie until she makes a grunting noise.

You know it makes sense. It's tradition old boy.

Trying asking one or two women you know what they think of that second last sentence. It's not just crude, it's cruel.

His book is really very funny as well as enlightening regarding gambling. He even talks about the dogs at Portsmouth and touches on greyhound racing as well.

It's okay, Grey and Phil - HT seems to be going through a midlife crisis at the moment. Having failed with some young lovely he flirted with for 2.05 minutes, he's gone a bit sour on women at the moment.

Which is tidy, since that pretty much rounds out the full set of things in life he's sour about.

I'm afraid it's another attempt at giving up smoking Kri. I've got the patches and one of those plastic inhaler things. After 3 days without a smoke I'm starting to see the benefits as the plastic thing already tastes better.

Ok.

Shadow Leader and Krizon, what do you think of that second last sentence?
As it stands now - I laughed!

After having a night like I had last night, anything seems funny!! Full on rioting last night.....if my Knight in Shining Armour hadn't stepped in I'd have been flattened I reckon!!

So where was PDJ at the time? [/b][/quote]
In the land of nod I'd imagine!! Nah, the kindly Knight was my little brother & I haven't seen him quite like that before - how sweet!

It wasn't as interesting as a Hunt Ball I'm afraid Simmo... :(

Can I just point out that I was a hundred miles away and unable to put my knightliness to good use....

Mother has asked for a painting for Christmas and whilst not being particularly horsey has picked out this:

"Nice Country scene with "some" horse in it"

... That would be Dawn Run mother.
