Christmas Will Win

3.25 Wincanton Hollow Blue Sky 10/1 freely available.

A long time since he last won and he's often not looked particularly resolute, so not an obvious one for this thread. However he is on an all time low mark, and he now has a seven pound claimer on board and a first time visor to take advantage. He has been much better in his first two runs this season, and right handed flat tracks usually bring out the best in him. Off bottom weight here he can get back on the winning thread. If I'm right they've been waiting for a race like this, and then they'll follow up in a conditionals race for another win.

Another one I backed from this thread. God that hurt! Anyone else see it?

I was on it too Bear. Backed it last time out and again today in a double with a winner...Couldn't make it u.

Oh God, that's horrific! I thoroughly recommend that everyone watches the replay. It's an absolute farce.

Defi Su Seuil goes in the Finale at Chepstow tomorrow, and can be backed at 10/11.

He is a stone-cold lock, and will take this on the way to winning the Triumph. Been a good while since I've been this excited about a juvenile hurdler, before the year has turned.

I'm leaving that race alone but surely his price and position in the market makes Evening Hush a value bet? She's rated 1lb higher and gets 7bs from him.

Backing juveniles is not something I get up to on a regular basis, DO. In fact, they are races I very rarely bet in, outside of the main Spring Festivals. But there was something about DDS's performance at Cheltenham which really made me sit upright in my chair, in a way that I hadn't done with a juvenile performance, since Jair Du Cochet won today's race 17 years ago (that makes me feel old!).

I backed him for the Triumph on the strength of that Cheltenham outing, and if my hunch about DDS s right, I can expect nothing less than a rout of the opposition today. I'm not particularly concerned about any of the opposition; mainly because if I had to pick a race-type where the form is most likely to be questionable, it would be a Fillies Juvenile Hurdle, and I'd have Evening Hush's rating down as open to wild inaccuracy, as a result.

I concede it's all down to the visual impression he left me with, but Defi Du Seiul looks a class apart to me, and I'll be very disappointed if he doesn't despatch this lot with something in hand.

Yep, sometimes that gut feeling is more dependable than the form book. Hope it pishes up for you.

Yep - that's about it.......and when it comes to juveniles, the gut-feel can carry more weight, given the form of such races is unlikely to have been properly tested at this point.

PS. I made a small, cosmetic, edit to the quote you posted, but it doesn't materially affect the overall message.

Yes!!! Cost me a treble with Mr Mix and Poker School. The double was okay anyway, but the treble would have been very nice. Painful to watch.

That pales into insignificance though, after we lost two horses after the pile up.

I will be delighted to see Barry Geraghty back in the plate on Defi Du Seuil, in the Triumph.

Christ - He won very easy but those last 3 hurdles were horrible! Good tip tho! :)

This has been a blinding thread for winners this week - great work lets keep it up.

Well done Edgt.

Is it still Christmas?
I've already made a giant tit of myself, so I'll either make amends, (or make a extra giant tit of myself) with this next one. :) :) :)

Catterick 3:20....Turtle Cask - Win - I like his profile. He won at this track in December last year. Similarly has had three or four starts this season, not really fired, but back at Catterick, a win is possible.
