Just think, if St Nick hadn't gone wrong as a 3yo he might have been packed off to stud at the end of that season. He might have retired as a winner of the Derby, Irish Derby and Arc but I think it's great to see these great horses like him and Yeats still running as older and more mature creatures.

Do you think he'd have beaten Workforce with a trouble free prep? An AOB trained 3yo will never win an Arc.

his target should be the Japan Cup and the BC Turf with a lighter campaign


about his 3yo Derby
more consistent than Workforce but I doubt he would have won that day

It might well be true that St Nick is better than ever, as Derrick Smith said afterwards. He was certainly very good today, but I wouldn't call him a great until he wins a senior Gr1.
