Clutterbuck has had three winners in handicaps at Wolverhampton and two of them were backed.

Stoneacre Gareth won 4/6. I'm not sure what price he was in the morning that day but there was recorded bets of £400-£550 six times, £400-£500 twice and a £286-£500 once.
That was in the 8.40 on a March night.

Strike Force was backed from 8/1-4/1 on course but I have no idea of his price through the day.

He has had 14 runners go off at double figure odds and all have lost.

Those that went off at single figure odds returned: 12711.

I don't fink jimmy Quinn is value for miney carryin over 9-0,Mount Tiger is a serious prospect on his time here, 4/1 should be 3/1.

It might be the type of race to have an e/w bet on a horse like Cocozza. I often will have a wee bet on an outsider if it seems that the market leaders are all much of a muchness.

I've just reviewed the race. I reckon a half-decent jockey on the Godolphin horse would have seen it an easy winner.

I think we are getting to the stage where this horse becomes worth watching a bit more closely. Declared at Kempton 9.10 Wednesday night, down to a 0-65, in a change of headgear, and dropping down in trip.

Would preferably like to see him off a slightly longer break in truth.

Often wonder when someone will try something different from the 0-65, blinkers/cheekpieces trick and "drop in grade and change of headgear brought about the improvement" line.

Would be great to see one go in off 63 - just for a change ;)

Anyone remember Stoneacre Gareth from a couple of years ago, hadn't run for 3 years had dropped from 75-45 and romped home by 6 lengths at 7/1 from any price. Wonder who trained that, might be worth keeping an eye on the market!

Mentioned earlier in the thread. There HAS to be a race in this yoke!

Won't be today looking at the market. Down another 5 lb today, then a 0-60 off a break during the AW season with Kirby onboard?

its off the edge of the cliff stuff though surely Slim.

any random horse of a certain ability will win at sometime or other.

have you checked out the half siblings - what they cost and what they have won?

Shatter - 100k - beaten off 66 - winnings £0 from 4 runs

Black Crystal - 500k:blink: - won 7k in earnings from 5 starts

If the trainer is Ken Clutterbuck he pulled off a huge gamble with a horse called Stoneacre Gareth in 2011. The horse was rated 45 after winning as a 2yo off 73.

Recently, I understand, Clutterbuck's son received a ban of 30 months in relation to the Eddie Ahern, Neil Clement case. The horse in question was Stoneacre Gareth.

It may well be worth watching Cocozza as they may well have a race lined up for him at Kempton, where Stoneacre Gareth landed the gamble.

Furthermore, Clutterbuck runs a pub in Exning with Julia Feilden's sister, so I would imagine they will have some idea of how much ability Cocozza retains.
Sorry hadn't read through it but Fieldens in form!
