Both the Sun and the Daily Mail say that Daniel Craig is the new James Bond - so it must be right.

Daniel Craig was always their second choice. (First was Clive Owen, who turned it down. Either because he didn't want to become typecast or because he wanted too much money, depending on your choice of tabloid.)

Ooooooooooooo that man did funny things to my insides as Jemmy in Moll Flanders :shy: :shy: :shy: :shy: Just imagine being held up by him!?!?! (he was a highway man)

Damien Lewis ? Isn't he ginger haired ? I can't see a ginger bond being marketable ?

Clive Owen? Shurely you can't be serious.

Anyway, he looked like an octogenarian when he played Corporal Jones in Dad's Army all those years ago, he must really be 80 by now...

He's got a slightly bashed, tough look which is quite endearing, bless him, and quite a decent body, too, if I remember rightly. (From tv, not from personal experience, unfortunately.) But can they make him 'sophisticated'? A smashing actor, though, always thoroughly believable.

And Daniel Craig is blond. Sean Connery was bald but they can do amazing things these days...

Didn't Connery wear a chest wig, Brian? Or did it just look that way? I have to say I imagine an intimate encounter with him might have been a somewhat abrasive experience...

I wonder... would any of you chaps wear a toupee if the old noggin got a bit shiny? I know it's considered okay for women who've lost their hair to wear one (my late neighbour did - a mass of very ornate curls), but how do you feel about blokes with tonsorial enhancements? :brows:

I fully understand a woman doing so - in fact if I were female and thinning I'd find the best wig-maker around and go for as much as I can afford.

But I've never understood men who do it - and most of them buy really awful ones. If you lose it, let it go. Sean Connery only wore one when the part demanded it - in real life he went naked as nature intended.

Are you familiar with Boy George's comment on Elton John? "Elton - all that money and he's still got hair like a dinner lady. Sad."

My mother wore a wig for a while when her hair fell out due to cancer. It mostly grew back but is still thin.

Mrs Dessie says she'd make me wear a wig if I ever lost my hair. Fortunately it isn't something I have to worry about as I'm 'past the half-way mark' with no sign of receding or hair loss.

That's nice, but are you finding it growing extensively in previously uncolonized places, such as eyebrows, nostrils and ears? Most men past 'a certain age' seem to develop Mick Kinane brows and ear tufts to match.

I see no reason to have unsightly body hair such as nostril hair. Spend a tenner and get a hair removal device. I cannot stand talking to people and seeing a mini forest sprouting out of their nose.

I have recently moved from a Roger Moore Deluxe to a Clooney Mark One.

The only thing I've seen yer man in is one of my favourite films, Elizabeth. I still think that James Purefoy would make a great Bond though!
