It would be worth paying a commission agent to get you on at the early price as it would have two effects. Number one you get the amount you want on and number two it will move the market for you.
 
I doubt after the last three days i'll have any accounts to bet on and i've got
dozens,think that was the first time in months i've seen something worth backing on betfair.I knew the karen george horse was going to drift so was just watching it get bigger and bigger on betfair,i couldn't see it going off bigger than its original price 9/2.If it hadn't drifted i probably wouldn't have put it on here.:ninja:
 
Twinkled won cheekily when winning over c/d off just a 3 pound lower mark had cativo cavallino and shared moment in behind,looking through the rest of the runners the majority have done very little on the surfaces at kempton or lingfield and shown nothing on the clock either.I think twinkled should be half its current price and if getting a decent pace to chase should be abouts,douze points could be miles infront of its mark but i expect to get a decent trade out of twinkle can't see it being anywhere near 9/1 more like 5/1
 
Would you consider trading to be a more professional approach to making a living on Horse Racing?
 
I don't use trading to win a great deal of money,its just covering my stakes on a lot of the bigger ew bets mainly,as long as you know they're going to shorten considerably then i can't see the point in not doing it.
I won't be doing much trading during the summer because i'll be having 10x more bets so it isn't feasible,only on quiet days.
 
Are you by any chance the same Andy who used the moniker "pro punter" on the BOTB racing site several years back and did a season long detailed daily log of his bets.
Big advocate of speed figures and a good knowledge of French racing.

Same here fella out at 4.8 bit late posting as finishing tomorrows cards,how the hell was it 7.4 after the withdrawl was only 13/2 with the books with the fav running!!You ended up doing better than me and i got the early price!:blink:

I had placed a request to back at that price. Some Layer hoovered mine and even higher (7.6) in a sudden burst of frenzy.
You know how a market goes momentarily mental after a withdrawal -- prices jumping up and down all over the place for a coupla minutes until things settle down. Always put in a request at a much higher price than you expect -- sometimes someone will bite. Worse thing can happen is that your request will remain unfilled -- you can always back it at a lower price anyway.

Looks a two horse race and primaeval broke the track record here in 1m23,29 inevitably wll be backed at the prices of 5/2 and 9/4 and will go off probable favourite.Alben star also a big improver and needs to show his stamona so the price of primaeval has to be wrong,palace moon and brave echo were in that record breaking race so 5/2 9/4 is huge presuming there's plenty of pace on!Will be surprised if this goes off bigger than 6/4 even if alben star were to win.
 
Plenty of 9/4 and 2/1 i havn't even got a skybet account,just pointing out for anyone who has its not mythical if iots going off 6/4 maybe even shorter.

I'm not having a go at you gigilo. I'm just pointing out that these overnight markets have alarms on them if anyone has a fiver!

Snow bay has got better with age last season running to a mark of 97 when coming 5th to namecheck,all previous seasons highest mark on turf was 85.There are quite a few positives for him as he has run well fresh last two seasons april 2010 winning on appearence run and repeating it again last season winning on april 1st has only won three races on turf and all in this month.Last season kicking off a winning mark of 82,followed this up by winning off 87,then second off 92 to justonefortheroad,ran a third to kay gee bee off 94, 7 pound pull for 2 1/4ls tomorrow,a third to dubai dynamo then again third to norman orpen running cracking races back to back.

When running behind norman orpen beating tomorrows favourite mont ras by 1 1/4ls yet 7 pound better off tomorrow,drawn in (19)going will be similar to last years so the rail is probably an advantage,will be uop with the pace has dropped to a mark of 88.This would definitely be one to watch over the next month as all his good form points to it and is more than capable of winning one of these decent handicaps,i would expect to see this backed from that draw and whatever happens one for the notebook.



Captain bertie has been a disappointment was a horse i thought may have progressed was in norman orpens race with mont ras massive eyecatcher cantering in behind but never getting a run,then running an even better race behind decent fella a slightly better race than this again nearest at finish.Was very disappointing after that but as a 3yr old taking on older horses the presnt mark off 88 starting to look very lenient with maybe improvement to come.The negative could be the draw as drawn (12) i would imagine winston will come stand side snow bay leading up hopefully,the outer of the stands side would not be a big disadvantage looking at the way brae hill ran last season in the lincoln.

Veiled applause gets to run in a race for horses only rated up to 70 for the first time in five seasons going back to june 2007,has now dropped to a mark of 70.He's run at the track 9 times never being out of the first four,his last four season debut runs have been over c/d finishing 2/3/4/ and a third last season off 82 and followed that up with a 3rd to frontline phantom off 83.Ran another second over c/d off 71 with a 3 pound claim in an identical race to this going off 9/4 fav,has a decent draw in five and if following the trend of all his previous form could quite easily halve in price as this race still looks weak and there are very few improvers if any in the race.
