Wheelbarrow Wedesday,same again 10 winners but better today more placed not so many picks and some better pruces 11/4 4.7 bf,9/2,11/2 8s was available most of the day on bf,15/2,7/2 5.7 bfsp,4/11,9/4,4/6,5/1 7sbfsp,11/2 8.82 bfsp...a winning week locked in already..Hopefully there's a bit more rain around,i notuced froday and saturday are going to be dry and warm,if that's the case the goings will be up in the air again..Ascot should still be gd/sft regardless but better if its soft ground,Haydock are furecast very little rain now and that meeting might have to be avoided and there's a ? over Thirsk..It either needs to rain properly or no rain and the it will be decent ground..I didn't practise what i preach and just bet everything,can't be nbothered even trying to get multiples on with so many picks if i'm going to do them it will be in running on a busy da when punters are betting anything,but still a big winning day also had the Hamilton plcepot to over £11..

Not keen on friday or Saturdays Ascot cards,very disappointing the 7f race on saturday hasn't git one c/d winner in it,that must be virtualluy unheard of ad the form ovr that cd is mainly on faster ground,such a werd Ascot race no horses entered that like the cd..

Just ridiculous grounds drying out here now as well,i thought ts was guaranteed desperate ground Hickory is dufferent clas to those things i've backed it through the whole summer but i thought the ground would be the leveller fur the wholw fued,again the weather picks up ad ground is drying..Just so difficult bet pre race with this weather..Going to ruin all tomorriws bets as i've done soft ground..I was wonderimg why rare chage went onto 9s and then driftd back out to 20s,and the runners in the 4.40 soft ground horses not a penny fir them..Doing my head in this racing..

unplaced,my own fault for trying to be clever when i don;t know the ground,hope everyone ignored the Haydock picks was pureky boredom..Deserve to lose,i never do this usyally i do the complete opposite any sort of question on ground i just ignore the meeting..The race was slow by 1.71 seconds so at least on the straight tracks it could be near gd/dfm by racetime tomorrow it's just the temps don't get high now heavy dews,but i'd rather bet faster ground horses now on the straight track..

Two winners all day and very few places,i can't remember aday as bad as this in a long time guessing on ground at Haydock and horrible tacky ground at Ascot,don't see it being much better tomorrow,Ascots drying but its going to be like today tacky,thats why the winers disances ae exaggerate,just turns into a guesing game..Septembers almost certainly going to be the worst month of the year because its Autumn ending of Summer,the grouns going to be hotrendous to judge..Hopefully buckets down Sunday onards as it just makes it easier for next week..

No good today,a few short pruced winners a few that were unlucky in running as well,i'm not liking saturday or fridays cards particulary and haydock and thirsk it will be last minute

Don't know what the goings will be at Haydock or Thirsk,dry today and tomorrow will look at the haydock times today but thirsk not even a going stick reading says good/gdsft that could also dry out..I suspect Haydock will be dead ground ,am not sure about Thirsk as it does dry out quick..just these for the time being..interest bets only as missed prices on some.And now the Ascot ground is drying out,just farcical thats the problem doing furm 2 days in advance guves you a massive edge as long as the going is the same,i never thought Ascot would start drying out..

Hi Andy - I've been reading this thread for something like 18 months now and enjoy it hugely.
You've got your critics - and tbh some make valid points in terms of stakes and exotics perms required to follow your carpet bombing approach imo - but you add more value in terms of content to this forum than all of them put together.
It would be a sad day if you ever stopped posting - I don't follow you, but if you put up a horse I've backed I'm always pleased about it.
Just an observation and one I hope you take in the spirit it is intended.
When you get beat, you usually attribute it to the ground not being what you expected - it's a recurring theme so not getting solved anytime soon.
I have no numbers to back it up, but my impression is you're at your most lethal on the AW where varying surface is less of an issue.
Have you ever broken down your P/L into Turf and AW, or maybe dug even deeper into Polytrack and Tapeta, or course by course?
Anyway, thanks for the thread - I'd rather read your thoughts than those of the occasional snipers.

Anyone doing it for as long as giggsy is certainly not doing their brains. I first heard of giggsy when I had a brief stint on final furlong and a guy called hoofhearted, icebreaker on here is believe said he was the best he'd seen. I often remember Icebreaker/hoofhearted for buying bitcoin back in the day before anyone had heard of it and then selling it way too early for a quick profit....who knew!

Ground is always an issue but it's usually the switch between seasons,this turf season has been very good but September has become that month where you don't know if its going to rain and if it does dry out like Ascot today,it's inevitable you;re going to lose when this happens..It usually happens in the Spring as well,but the Springs are getting drier so there is a consistent trend of decent ground,but any gd/fm ground considering its the warmest driest Summer on record has been virtually non existent..It just proves how much watering they have been doing.
I catch them out just as much on the turf as on the aw it's just obviously not going to be as consistent,so losing days are inevitable i do the form two days in advance so even though i come unstuck like the last two days,i only need to be really accurate one or two days a week and when the Winter comes with guaranteed soft ground it just becomes like betting on the aw..
The members on here or lurkers they've been following fir so long they know what and what not to do,i never say back the shorties unless i state otherwise,anyone who comes on the thread is either a troll or haven't learn't anything from following over a period of time..Like Nick the other week he saw me moaning about the ground so just did a multiple at Bath on guaranteed fast ground,virtually went through the card..just a bit of common sense is required..
The aw is different class for betting on as a betting medium especially if you want to take it seriously,it takes me an hour and a half to do the days cards,where i can spend 12 hiurs doing 5 meetngs on the turf,that's why i never go on holidays or rarely go out i do the firm for every single race bar those meetings in Ireland..I just put up everything and if anyine wants to do multiples as i have said a million times just do the bigger prices,or like Nick did make sure you're doing the picks on the right ground..guarateed soft or gd/fm avoid anythng that saus good,it's a meaningless ground forecast..
The aw season will be inevitably be more consistent but not necessarily bigger wins but a lot less losing runs,i would prefer to be betting on fibresand but that's gone forever in order of preference it would be Wolves,Lingfield,Kempton,Newcastle then Chelmsford but similar to the tyrf the tracks can sometmes be really slow especially in Winter with freezingg weather..But even that's being eliminated slowly as we are having warmer winters and more rain..

The fibresand at Southwell was a goldmine, as Andy had the form there completely taped. Pity they had to go with tapeta.
The big meetings on a Saturday are usually worth ignoring for me. There is little value and the bookies know the score. I just did Wolverhampton today and, apart from Ballarat Bertie, they are going well. Magic Runner was a great pick and went agonisingly close.

Don't know what the goings will be at Haydock or Thirsk,dry today and tomorrow will look at the haydock times today but thirsk not even a going stick reading says good/gdsft that could also dry out..I suspect Haydock will be dead ground ,am not sure about Thirsk as it does dry out quick..just these for the time being..interest bets only as missed prices on some.And now the Ascot ground is drying out,just farcical thats the problem doing furm 2 days in advance guves you a massive edge as long as the going is the same,i never thought Ascot would start drying out..

Again it says gd/sft Windsor it was dry yesterday and today 24 degrees and dry tomorrow,si i've risked it again and hoping for gd//gdfm by racetime Ascot drued out in a day and a half...
This is just getting ridiculous,the Windsor going stick was 7.0 yesterdat morning it was 27 degrees yesterday and its now 6.9 ffs,so the grounds slower than yesterday,makes absolutey no sense so now the ground will be good gdsft surely it can't be gd/sft..How could it not have dried out,so nearly all those bets now are now ruined..Huge drifters on the aw as well..glad wednesdays been abandoned need a day off..
