Damage To My Car

After much deliberation and re-reading of this thread, and being the kind old sole that I am, I have sent her a letter asking for 50% of the repairs. If she doesn't reply or send the cheque within in 7 days, it's 100% or I'll see her in court! h:)

That she didn't immediately offer to pay 100% without question, would have tempted me to charge her 200%.

In what way do you feel liable to pay for the 50%? Silly decision, IMO. Either pay it yourself, which entitles you to bad mouth her around the neighbourhood, or stick her with the full bill.

To be honest, with a new car, it is not unreasonable to get any damaged panel replaced, regardless how trivial the damage, rather than fixed, which would cost a hell of a lot more than you mentioned.

Misread - thought it was a neighbour - now see it isn't. No advantage to paying yourself - hit her with the full bill.

Melendez, I try and put my self in other people's shoes and just try to be fair. I would be happy if she coughed up 50% of the repair and I probably wouldn't care so much if it hadn't been a brand new car but it is and the dent really does show.

I have access to another car at work whilst it is being repaired so it's not the end of the world for me.
 
I hear that SL is off to correct all the typo's on this forum...just to prove that she is not just an out and out stirrer. :)
