Thought i might start a thread for horses which for one reason or another may have gone under the radar of most enthusiasts which could be primed to win soon at potentially big odds, with detailed reasoning.
1. Black Minstrel- J O'Shea.
For one reason or another this 7 yo gelding by Dylan Thomas out of a Generous mare has had only eight lifetime runs. Began his career with Amanda Perratt and had shown enough promise at home to start at 8/1 4th favourite in a Sandown maiden in 2011 finishing 6/10 weakening in final furlong btn 7 lengths.
The first 3 home Archbishop went on to win a G3 off 107,
2nd was Farraaj won next 2 races before progressing to win the John Smiths Cup off 111.
3rd was Surfer, ran up to 79 here before racing in Meydan where he has won the Al Maktoum challenge G2 off a mark of 112.
In retrospect Black Minstrel may not have had much chance in that race, the 4th subsequently won off 81, the 5th won off 91, even the 8th won off 77.
Horse obviously has had problems and didn't run for over a year and ran well down the field in 2 races.
Another 18 months off before reappearing in a C6 10f race at Lingfield and was backed off the boards into 4/5 fav, got boxed in on rails before finally getting out to sprint past Salient and get up on the line.
Ran again twice that season, tailed off both times, to my mind must have physical problems. Horse now with John O'Shea and after another 17 months off reappeared over 12fs at Lingfield where he pulled hard(unsuprsngly) but stayed in contention to 2fs out. Last time out an unconsidered 20/1 shot ran a very good 3rd to Attain over 10fs btn just 2 lengths after leading into the final furlong.
John O'Shea has a habit of getting horse back once they're running from an old winning mark, look at Louis Vee and Clement and if he can keep this horse sound could win shortly, and he does have a habit of getting them to follow up!

2. Mezmaar-K Morgan.
Another 7 yo gelding by Teofilio out of a Daylami mare, again has had few runs just 8 and actually won 2 out of his first 3 races as a 2 yo when with Barry Hills and finished 10/23 in the Coventry at Royal Ascot behind the likes of Power and Lethal Force btn just over 6 lengths. Again must have had problems because didn't reappear for 18 months when btn just over 2 lengths in 5th in a C2 conditions race over 6fs at Haydock behind Regal Parade then rated 103 and Royal Rock 105. Must have gone wrong again and was off another 12 months and changed stables to Kevin Morgan who is very adept at banging in big priced winners at Yarmouth and Kempton.
Has had a few runs down the field for him in 2014 and mark has now dropped to 72, from which he reappeared at Kempton recently, where wearing a hood in a C5 6f handicap fairly bombed home into 5th btn just 2 3/4 lengths and the handicapper has very kindly dropped this horse 2lbs to 70! Think this horse is primed to win soon if he can be kept sound, has a very interesting entry at Kempton on Wednesday where he gets in off bottom weight in a 0-85 in a C4 h'cap. May not get in as there are 20 declared at the moment and most are jocked up, but will find easier opportunities than this over 6/7 fs.

Found it interesting that horse mentioned in the Black Minstrel post at the top "Clement" won again yesterday by a very easy 4 lengths, in a time that would have won the C2 race won by 101 rated Realise! Would some time expert care to put this into context for me.

The class 2 was a farce yesterday should've been something like a second quicker than that at and clements looked a certainty last two runs producing times that equivalent of a horse running nearer to 80 than 70 plus had claimers on form of its life..

One of my cliff horses last year, Saigon City, I had in mind for the Lincoln. However he didn't feature amongst the entries. I tweeted Cumani and was told he'd been sold at the HIT sale last year. Declan Carroll picked him up, trains in Yorkshire. Anyone know anything about him?
