De bromhead

Not at all. Not my kind of bet. It was more the idea that several of Henrys have run like drains. It was only after I had the list that I remembered a plus Tard was running today. A Plus Tard ran well. ( Had he been tailed off it would be more concerning). I'd be pretty confident of him reversing places on better ground and not sure why RTE were suggesting that Rachel was to blame.

It honestly never look like that way to me. The ground was Yeilding so he'd be hard pressed to find beter ground and Galvin would also appreciate better ground.

He came late and hard and almost ran out of time that would to me at least suggest a stiffer track and longer trip might suit him more than A Plus Tard.

It is of course psooble A Plus Tard was not at his best.....time will tell

No-one's mentioned the first-time cheekpieces. Headgear doesn't suit every horse. Neither does going at a stupid early pace.

I did ask why they felt they needed them earlier. Would be surprised if they were used next time.

Not that many people were backing MI before Cheltenham last year, what's changed in that regard? It was an odds gamble at the time, and the horse ran above what it'd had shown. That's no different now, especially looking at the results.

Bob not being out could easily be seen as evidence that all is not perfect in the stable. He has had horses run well, but a lot of good ones needing excuses for inexplicably bad runs.

Bob had entries at Cheltenham and Ascot before Christmas -that suggests to me that they are looking for decent ground.Henry had 4winners between Leopardstown and Limerick and horses beaten at 1.01,1.06 and 1.07.Personally I don't think there is anything sinister in the stable but obviously Cheltenham in March is what it's all about.

Just going through a few of De Bromhead's horse's runs over the past few days, it seems like they're jumping a lot worse. And by a lot worse they have the same range as any other trainer, where previously I'd have noted almost all his horses as being more capable in others.

I don't mean this necessarily in the horse's ability but more their variability over a race. They might start out poor, get into a rhythm for a bit, then end poor. It's as those he's focused more on other aspects this season, which to me hints at less, "His stable is doing poorly" and more "he's changed his methods to achieve something slightly different." The only reason it's notable is because of how good he is. So I would say I have trust in him that he's taking some short term pain for a long term benefit.
