My current favourites female, Alpha Centauri, runs in the Prix Jacques Le Marois at Deauville on Sunday. The race is sponsored by her owners and she will win, even if the ground is forecast to be good rather than her favoured good to firm.
Having given up on plans to watch her at the maelstrom that Ascot is nowadays I was fortunate enough to watch her win on the July Course at Newmarket when a fine day and relatively low weekday attendance contributed to one of my most enjoyable day’s racing experiences. Since we have never been to Deauville I’m minded to go for the weekend and would appreciate any advice from those that have been there so that I can give the family a day as good as that we had at Newmarket.
