Given your username, I wonder if you thought his dominance of the Flat code boring?

There's always the County Hurdle for those who obsess about 'competitiveness'. ;)

Any time he took to the track was a joy.

Can only assume it's a slow start over the twigs for you to bring the great one in to the discussion?

Surely a clash with the mare just means it's a battle for the number one spot past or present.

That would be like saying a clash with Goldikova would have solved the puzzle of no 1 miler of 2011 season. Its a no contest, literally. The fact that Faugheen is considered for longer trips is a result of RR and Ruby having tears at the end of her CH win, she is simply too beloved to be put against him. For WPM it's simply a matter of winning as many races and knows AP has failed in the WH so whats the point of sending her there. RR said that AP main target in 2014 was the Aintree Hurdle because `the team` had Quevega and Fly at Cheltenham, but RR overruled Mullins and made him run her in the WH which backfired as they weren't able to run her at Aintree afterward. They seem to think her ideal trip is 2 and half and that view is backed by ratings with her best run last season at Aintree, not at Cheltenham. Food for thought, if she fails in any of the prelims she will bypass Chelt.

They don't need to think about it right now. Both of them have got to get through the season fit and well, and Faugheen has to prove he's back to his best after the layoff. I'd say they won't make a decision which way the two of them go until February.

If they're both on top of their game at 2 miles it will be impossible not to send them both to the Champion Hurdle. Sure they may try and figure out a plan, but if Faugheen hasn't been stepped up in trip at some point in the season how can they consider the World Hurdle for him, and with Annie as reigning champion how can they bypass the race for the Mares, the World Hurdle, or for Aintree.

I think you can take it for granted that Apples Jade would have been nowhere near the racetrack this early in the season if he was still with Willie.
