I was curious to foaling dates of 3yo winners. Thought I'd see a trend of Jan - Feb, but wasn't to be, until I went back to Mill Reef in 1971. The trend was there in the 70's, became a middle ground from mid 80's until 2000, since then it's become the opposite, all Mar and Apr.
It seems more than a statistical blip and more a steady progression toward later and later foals.
Any reasoning for this?
