Blonde they all were (with a little help), but certainly neither Jayne or Marilyn were dumb. I've read a bit about Jayne Mansfield and her kids have nothing but good stuff to say about their memories of her. She seems to have doted on them, but also been very sensible with their upbringing. But having been locked into stereotypical roles for so long, she - unlike Diana Dors, another smart cookie - failed to get offered any 'mature' roles. She had a high IQ and was apparently an intelligent conversationalist, unlike the dumb roles she played. Marilyn's intelligence was also well-regarded, but none of these women lived to any age. I'd love to have seen Marilyn working in the older woman roles as many actresses eventually got to do. All early deaths are sad, and while Jayne left a young family grieving for their Mommy, at least Anna Nicole's baby won't have to go through that trauma.
