Horse is now underrated. I had listened to a few of the NH preview podcasts doing the rounds and was amazed how few mentions this horse got in relation to either the Ryanair or the Gold Cup. This including Kevin Blake and some pundits that you'd ordinarily respect. I didn't think he was as foot perfect today as he had been pre-Gordy-sitting-on-dead-horse but I think he is the horse with the highest ceiling in training - Shiskin being the rival. The way Elliot and now de Bromhead talk about him suggests that he is something different and better than anything else they have trained. Guess he would be 2/1 (ish) in a match wtih Shiskin over 2m4f now where it would have been evens the pair (ish) before Cheltenham.
The rebuilding job may mean his Gold Cup campaign will be next year rather than this but remains the most intriguing story of the year for me. I'd want to see a Gold Cup winner rather than a Ryanair winner, and talk of John Durkan disappoints me.
