Aww - some of the comments - "He was all heart" but died of a heart condition. Poor little guy.

Yes, I latched on to him in time for his festival runs and caught him in the Imperial Cup as well.

Lorcan Williams gave him far too much to do , probably on account of the confidence Skelton must have given him, when he bumped into Galopin Des Champs. I don't suppose they were to know they were up against a superstar in the making. Take GDC out of the race and it would have looked like a super-cool ride.

Still annoys me, though!
 
Was there a third ? Some reports that it was Peso in the second race

Oh I loved that horse. Was there when he won at Cheltenham ( can still picture him in the winners enclosure; I think he was @ 20/1?) having been following him that season ( he’d been tipped in my Jumping Prospects book). And had a friend in my village called Georgina who followed him, too. So glad that he had a long and happy retirement.
