Excel Files

I'm on my computer at home and for whatever reason I cant open my excel files as I have an older version. Is there anyway I can download it without paying for it?

Is this because they are saved as Excel 2007 documents?

Have a look at the file and see if they have the .xlsx / .xlsm extension rather than the usual .xls. For a fuller list of these, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Office_2007_file_extensions

The problem is I only have Microsoft Works spreadshhets so I'm unable to open the new files whcih are on Microsoft Office.

If you have a gmail account, open it using their excel program and it may convert it for you

Im far from being an expert but excel is not available for downloads online at all as far as i know. They are quite strict on this. I had works too and it wont load excel

Excel is a high value programme to microsoft.
