Not for me, mate !!!
Paddy has thrown me out of the PowerPlayPlus club !
I didn't get the PPPlus push-offer yesterday for the first time since mid-October. It has ended for me.
I queried it ("hey dude, where's meh PPPlus ? ") and was told officially I'm not getting it anymore. Bugger.
Ronaldo was FGS enhanced to 5.0, is that right?
Unreal.

BTW, if you have visited anywhere else in the past month looking up MatchBook, unless you clear cookies that site will get the affiliate benefit rather than Col even if you do sign up via the banner on TH. So clear cookies ................

Can see no real reason why anyone would want to move from Betfair.....so much money going round and so easy to get matched without hassle

You can back lay place dutch you name it.

it is also gives a much better indication of what is fancied and what is not.......

I've looked into MatchBook ................. and have to say I like what I see !
Excellent liquidity, especially on English Soccer, NBA and NFL.
Good tight odds -- well on a par with Betfair's.
And standardised 1.15% commission on winnings, a little less on losing stake.

To answer the thread title, I do believe this is a "viable alternative to Betfair". :)

I'll be signing up later today -- through the banner at the top of the TH page obviously.:o

Matchbook is not an alternative though. Its unbelievable for US sports and you can use it, along with Pinnacle to bet against fixed odds bookmakers and sometimes even Betfair. We should chat sometime Ice and I can bounce a few easy money nicking projects off you.

I'm always up for any mutual money-making enterprise, Arfur !

Thing is tho', since they banned accounts from U.S.A. residents following the UIGEA enforcement, they seem to be embarked on a European-focussed drive. Which can only be good; they will become ever bigger players. And an ever more sensible back-up for disenchanted Betfair users. The commission rate is most attractive. I know that for myself, at least all my football betting will henceforth be through MatchBook.

Professional US bettors still get on with them. It would be ridiculous to think the massive US liquidity is coming from European players.

Could you show me where I ever said that?
What I am saying is that since UIGEA, Matchbook is morphing into a European-facing exchange from being previously a predominantly U.S.-facing one. Accordingly, they are in the process of making their platform more attractive to potential Euro clients having had to officially refuse accounts to U.s. players on pain of getting busted by the Feds.
This can only be good for us. Anyhows, it has attracted me -- a 1.15% comm in decent liquidity markets is a carrot I can't ignore. I reckon a good few cost-conscious punters will feel the same.

(Finally, none of us on the outside looking in know for sure where the liquidity is coming from. It could be Asian, it could be Martian. It could be Tony The Brooklyn Mobster feeding in bitcoin thru the Tor network. Who cares as long as it is there).

So, I opened an account with MatchBook via the TH banner link, but ...............
it will not allow me to deposit funds. It tells me "your account is suspended".

I was using Neteller to deposit -- ample funds in there to cover my deposit.

There are no LiveChat agents available, so I have emailed them.

Not a great start, I have to say.

Aha, all seems okay.
Received an email reply ( that was quick!).
All it is , is that they need to verify the account with a passport scan and recent utility.
It's similar to Betfair's Know Your Customer procedures.
