Fancy A Cup Of Tea?

I love tea and I haven't had a cup since Sunday  I'm going to be lodging a complaint with my nursemaid, Mr GG. I've been ill in bed since Monday and am under strict instructions from my doctor to rest. He's been doing a grand job of looking after the junior Griffins but hasn't had the decency to offer me one single cup of tea  I've just left my bed for the first time today and I feel my first trip downstairs in days coming on just so that I can have a cup

Earl Grey, quite milky and with almost two sugars. One isn't enough and two is too much. He'd probably fail to make it properly anyway  Fussy about which brand too. Twinnings Earl Grey is the worst! I used to drink green tea with lemon and a splodge of honey to sweeten it but I haven't had any since becoming pregnant as it's not allowed in the first three months. Haven't got back into the habit of drinking it again. Must make more of an effort.

My home cooked dish last night was brill!! two large chicken breast(only breasts I get to feel now days :P ) sliced open and BOURSIN (full fat cheese with garlic and fine herbs) spread into the breasts, cooked in foil with a sprinkle of olive oil & black pepper over the breasts...

VEGETABLE RICE and a large portion of MUSHROOMS cooked in butter and olive oil with black pepper and salt added too... followed by two bottles of BECKS BIER....

Well I did it. I went downstairs and made myself a cup of tea. A monumental effort, which felt similar to running a marathon. I had to have another sleep afterwards  When I woke up I sent Mr GG a text message asking if he could make me another cup with strict instructions on how to do it properly. I should've made the effort to go downstairs for the second time today, it was awful  Why can't other people make tea properly?

Got some Twinings herbal tea's in just, blackcurrant, vanilla and ginseng.  Smells lovely.
They always do . To me herbal teas never seem to taste as good as they smell.

Take care Griffin .

Meanwhile , are you sure Twinings are the worst ? Sainsburys Earl Grey tastes like someone has dropped some cheap perfume in it

No, Sainsburys comes a close second though, as I've recently discovered. One of the best was Safeways own brand believe it or not. I used to live two minutes away from Safeways but then they sold out to Morrisons, and Morrisons Earl Grey was foul. Now I wouldn't have a clue where the nearest Safeways is, so for over a year now I've been trying different brands with not much joy.

Have you tried Whittards of Chelsea that Kathy refers to ? Though I doubt there is a shop in Faringdon , Oxford will have one I imagine.

How about Waitrose ?

There is a Whittards in the outlet village in Swindon, I'll try that next. As for Waitrose, there is one in Wantage but I never ever go there. I hate driving in strange places and have only been to Wantage twice!

There are far stranger places in this world than Wantage...
But it's got a one way system in the centre and that frightens me

I can recommend Marks and Spencer's Earl Grey. I can also recommend avoiding Asda's Earl Grey.

Hope you're feeling a bit better, Griffin.

Its also got an Arkwright!

But Griffin its quite a small town - all you do is go round the square and Waitrose has its very own car park - somewhat small I may add for your new lorry sized vehicle you are driving. Its got a nice clothes shop as well called Walton Clothing.

I might take myself to Wantage when my new kitchen is being fitted. I've no desire to be surrounded by noise, dirt and workmen for five days and have to find things to do to escape it all. I have a friend who lives in Wantage whom I've never visited, I always insist she comes to Faringdon, so I could kill two birds with one stone.

As for parking my huooooooge car, it's surprisingly easy :D I've learnt to ignore the pathetic bleeping from the parking sensors and I just chuck it into a space quite confidently. Mr GG still hasn't mastered the art
