Today's was Terry Wogan's last morning radio show... and I didn't get to hear it :(

No longer commuting in the morning means I've got out of the habit of tuning in but I wanted to get in to work early to hear it on the PC. Unfortunately I had a rough night and slept later than I'd intended.

Mornings aren't the same without him.

I decided that since I was going home for the hols, I wasn't leaving any alcohol behind in the digs. It seemed a good idea at the time...

Me and the missus did something similar one time with a half-litre of vodka.............just before we checked out of our hotel to get on an 11 hour flight home.

Not recommended.

That's the problem with those 'good idea at the time' scenarios - they usually lead to unnecessary complications like hangovers, waking up next to the village idiot, or marriage.

Meanwhile, trying to stay on the subject of the title for a change....mornings won't be the same without him. Not looking forward to Chris Evans' shouting at all.
DO - you can probably listen to it through the BBC website.

Seems that was certainly the case for Grassy's wife!!!

I did not realise he was popular over there? Is it only a recent thing? Always had the impression he annoyed most people.

I didn't wake up with a hangover or the village idiot or anyone or anything else for that matter. I did wake up at about 2am and couldn't get back to sleep. Decided I'd try sleeping on the couch. Didn't have much success with that and ended up crawling back off to bed at 6am. The alarm woke me at 8am, when I normally wake up without the alarm at about 6-6.30am.

I listened - it was lovely. Really going to miss him in the mornings, though Im sure Chris Evans will be fab - love drivetime with him and his team, not quite so sure about Simon Mayo, but Im sure he will be fine too (used to love him at breakfast on Radio1, not quite so sure about his covering the drivetime - but its better than Johnny Walker !!!)

I'l miss Terry too. I only ever listened to him for about 10 to 15 minutes on my way to work but I've got reservations about Chris Evans already. Still, I'll give him a chance but he's got a lot to live up to.

Far from it, Galileo, he has always had a large and faithful following over here. I've never been a regular listener, but always found him entertaining.

He has the graceful art of making fun without being offensive and being irreverent without being malicious (publicly, anyway).

We could do with a few more entertainers like him.

Absolutely, well put Redhead. He could also be hysterical - his Monday morning review of Midsummer Murders always made going back to work a bit easier.

I went through a phase where I thought he was a bit twee but I was only hearing a few minutes of the show. When I started my present job, with its 90-minute commute, Radio 2 was one of the few stations I could get the whole journey and I soon realised this show was a gem and a half.

Redhead is spot on.

I've rarely had the chance to listen to his show for the last 2 or 3 years due to shift changes. I always liked the way he had his finger on the pulse of what the public found interesting rather than the things that "babylon" wanted us to take note of. Very clever and funny man will be missed, hard act to folow.
