I am extremely reticent about starting this topic and urge Mods to be on guard to take it down.

But a friend who lives near Punchestown just texted to say that the racing priest, Fr Breen had passed away. A colourful chartacter who added to the gaitey of racing.

Met the man a few times before riding in bumpers in my younger years. A true gentleman.

RIP, father.
 
Matt Chapman interviewed Oliver Brady on ATR today and Matt suggested that Cheltenham should hold a minutes silence in honour of Father Breen on the first day of the festival.
