I have to be honest I have wanted to start a new thread on a winning day, the fact that it happened at the beginning of the week works well to.

I like this system because, on the whole it is quite easy to operate. All class and most disciplines of Handicap races are included. There are a few filters, the main one being that there needs to be 8 and no more than 11 declared runners. The strange thing is that it's the bottom 3 in the ratings that provide the selection's.

These were the two races I bet on today. I posted them earlier on my Filtered Two Ratings system thread which will now close.

Thanks for your support Simmo, so far this system is doing well. What is encouraging is that I have found one that does seem to work on both the flat turf and all weather and also over the Jumps in most types of Handicaps, providing that there are between 8 and 11 declared runners. I have not tested in Ireland, but I am finding I have enough to do, still testing in the UK see below😆. Another good thing about this system is it's entertaining, there is plenty of action, tomorrow looks a really busy day. If I am looking for negatives then change of going, and Saturday's might be weaknesses, we will have a better idea after tomorrow. I am off to Haydock today, to hopefully see this system working at first hand 😀.

I am at Haydock, since I did not have a bet in 2.40, 5.00, 5.35 races, and decided I would not do 4.25 because to many qualifiers. I decided to do the 2 Confined races at Nottingham as apart from the word, I am not sure there is an issue with them. Just as well I did because Miss Hathaway (9/1) has just one the 3.25 the other Confined race I have done is 4.31

Please excuse me for being a bit exhausted this morning, yesterday for me was a bit crazy. I don't know how I ended up just 3.30pts down, I lost on the first 7 races I bet in, my balance had been wiped and I thought that was the end of this system.

If I took no account of the effort I had put in then 3.30pts down would not be an issue. Going forward what I have got to decide, is whether I should avoid Saturday/weekend betting or was it just down to the change in ground conditions that meant that I did not win a fortune 🤔 😀 .

If my Mrs was not on holiday, there is no way I would get away with spending this amount of time on this. I have had a look at Today's racing, and the issues regarding ground conditions/N/R's are obviously still about. I have not decided whether to bet or not, however I have checked the prices.

Since I am staying in this afternoon to keep an eye on the golf, I am going to wait until 5 mins before each race, to decide on the betting strategy.

If I have 3 selections, the shortish priced one will be ew, the middle one will be win, and the longest priced will be used as a saver. If all 3 are priced close together I will forget betting on the race altogether.
 
Son now says he wants to go and see 28 days later at the cinema. So I will have to abandon my quiet afternoon 🙃.

So I have just done my later bets, have not bet in the 3.13 or 3.25, lost 5.50pts in 2.18.

I am going to have to accept this system in it's present form has stopped working lost 27.75pts today, which was more or less the balance.

It's not the loss that has convinced me, it was when I checked where the winners were in the ratings. In each race I bet in today, the winner was yes you have guessed it 😀, in the top 3 of the ratings.

One thing for shore is I can't back both the top 3 and bottom 3 😁. I could now swap to doing the top 3 again, which is a thought, there was a 10/1 today. At least it seems to be patches of time when it's the top 3 then the bottom 3. I might try the top 3 tomorrow, I will post if I decide to do so.
 
😃, Well I can only go by what I have looked at over the last 3 month's, and the strange thing is they rarely do come from the middle. What is also odd, is that the horse that the horse occupied 3rd spot, wins more than 1st and 2nd spot 🤪. I think I have room to include that selection as either a win or saver. And since the balance still has not gone negative, I will give it a go.

What’s the point of doing ratings if you're picking the horses at the bottom? I don’t think your system is any better than just picking horses numbered 5, 7, and 11 in every race.
 
With the introduction of 3rd place in the ratings, I feel I need to nail down my staking plan, it did not affect yesterday's profit, but could easily do so today as it's quite busy.

When I say it did not affect yesterday, it actually did, because if I had staked on the races where I had a selection priced 7/2 or less and saved on them, I would have had two more nice priced winners 😔.

The following will either be win or ew, this will be stated next to the price taken.
