Flooding in Ireland?

Dublin is getting hammered with extreme weather conditions the lat year. I can't handle another winter of this shit. By the time I got home last night after walking two miles in high winds and rain suicide was an option.

SC - Yes, it does seem to be exceptional....this is a photo of "Driving home for Christmas" last year, N81...after the snow plough and been through. Never been more glad to own a giant tank of a 4x4 with snow tyres.

I will never forget last winter. I fell down steps, fell over in my driveway in two foot of snow and that was when I sober.

It came in useful for one day last year then Miesque ;)

Hope all forumites are ok, though on a sadder note they've found a body whilst searching for the Gardai who was swept away in Wicklow last night :(

It was the constant p*ssing on his parade last night during the debate that flooded most places.

Dublin is bad, Monaghan where I am is pretty bad too. The main Traffic Lights in the town, On the bridle will know what i mean, are impassible from all directions this am. A number of cars submerged in the adjacent car parks at the shopping centre. Not many roads into two without floods. Really only one way in and out of town, so its tough getting around.

Dundrum Shopping centre closed for the day due to the bottom floor being flooded. Video on twitter of the water coming in through the doors.

From what I heard he was totally irresponsible - backers are seething at the drift.

On a happier note he had a winner at Punchestown a couple of weeks ago ;)

Try a solid month - my parents live up between the Wicklow & Sally gaps right where they start calling "impassable" as soon as it snows....we had snow boarders in our fields this year... The tyres work better than all-weathers from 7c down and in wet....so most of Ireland from October to Paddy's day really.....

Loving the snow boarders in the field - managed to put my walking boots to good use for a change here in Brighton for about two weeks last year.

Thankfully being on the coast the high salt content in the sea air means the snow doesn't last as long as further inland (even 2 or 3 miles inland).
