Fog

Could see about 10ft in front on way to the train station early this morning back in St. Helens.

Not so bad in Sheffield, though might just be the city centre.

I had a horrendous journey home. I literally couldn't see more than two lane markings ahead of me and at one point where the road was muddy to the point of covering the lane markings, I was down to a crawl trying to make out the grass verges on either side, then when I did spot the lane marker it turned out I was on the wrong side of the road. (Obviously no-one was in any danger as it was dark and i'd have seen headlights coming towards me.) It's the worst I've experienced in over 30 years driving.

Been clear as a bell here in Cornwall all day but they are forecasting snow showers for our North coast on Friday

Anyone else unable to see two feet in front of them?
Well Griffin can't cos she's pregnant. [/b][/quote]
And as I've just pointed out to Roger, my feet are a size 8, so therefore almost always visable

... and being Surrey, it wouldn't dream of allowing its mellow mists to develop into thuggish fogs...

Nice 'n' clear here. When it isn't, we get the lovely haunting sound of Ye Olde Fogghorne sounding, to warn those at sea.

Can't even see the chavtastic Christmas decorations put up by my neighbours - including the five, yes, FIVE inflatable snowmen including Homer Simpson.

Murky, damp, pretty cold. After the previous week's worth of gorgeously clear sunny days, winter has arrived with menaces.....

Was going to Newmarket tomorrow to see if the foals sell but can't be arsed to spend hours on the motorway and/or dice with death from idiot drivers who have no idea how to drive in foggy conditions.

The video stream will have to do!

I'm not sure if my Dad is winding me up, it's a hobby of his, but he says that he has heard that the temperature may be minus 16 on Christmas day .
Even if it is true, which I doubt, the weather forecasters normally get it wrong.

They have just given a weather warning for Devon over the weekend. Considering that my county is usually pretty mild, I guess the rest of the UK will be much worse.
It all seems too soon, I thought November was usually not bad. Off to do a spot of moorland walking tomorrow, so I had better dig out the thermals!

Sat outside in our shirtsleeves today for lunch at work enjoying the sunshine.
As Dim says the South West seems to have a snow warning for Thursday night and Friday so God help the rest of you.

Just found this on a weather outlook website... so perhaps my Dad was only half joking when he said he wanted to go to Lapland as it would probably be warmer this Christmas! :D

December freeze?
There is now quite a strong signal suggesting a possibly severe spell of wintry weather developing during the second week of December. This could bring temperatures as low as –15C to parts of the UK, with bands of heavy snow affecting northern areas in particular as polar low pressure systems push southwards. More on this during the weeks ahead, but please remember that long range forecasting is extremely challenging and so forecasts from any agency can and do go wrong.
