Considering four of the horses are retired and the other jockey is riding a dead horse (poor old Best Mate) think its time the banner got a bit of an update....if any of our more artistic/creative members (basically people who know how to do one up!!!) has some time on their hands drop me a PM....Krizon I given your new found IT expertise I expect to be hearing from you!!!:)

What about a poll to decide which horses go on the new banner?

Some ground rules would be advisable, I reckon, and I humbly submit the following for consideration.

1. Nothing trained in Newmarket
2. Nothing with a career lasting less than ten races
3. Nothing trained by a Sir or owned by a Sheihk or Highness
4. Nothing that failed to win at further than 1m7f219yds
5. Nothing retired at an age that correlates to a number on a dice
6. Nothing that has ever run on an artificial surface
8. Absolutely no Flat horses, because they're poofs.

I thank you.

I thought that the horse that finished third in last year's Group 1 Hong Kong Vase qualified under Grassy's rules! But damn that one start at Deauville on the all-weather!

Why not wait 'til after Cheltenham and select the winners of the major races? You could do it yearly.

Grasshopper: I take exception to Yeats being called a poof. The horse was pure testorene on hooves. You could put him off his fillies.

You see what a monster you've created, Gal!

Well, yes, it would be jolly nice to have perhaps two-a-side from the Flat and NH respectively. I'd like to support what Turtle's suggested: the winner of the last Derby and Oaks (boy and girl, see, equality an' all that), and the Cheltenham GC and Grand Nasty. Unless you want to get away from specific horses, and would just like a nice frieze of, say, a line of horses at exercise across downs or heathland?

And again, as TF suggests, a yearly update with the heroes and heroines.

The likes of Sinndar, Montjeu, Hawk Wing, Lindop, Denman, Kauto Star, Best Mate, Beef or Salmon, Kieren Fallon, Harchibald and others who have generated lively discussion on here.

I wouldn't recognise LINDOP if he kicked me in the backside! It's an anagram of PLOD IN - was that why he generated lively discussion?
