This is a positive post
I think the level of the forum is quite good

But i would like to know
If You choose 3 members of the forum to follow their selections

Which 3 You would choose?

It would genuinely depend on the race!

All things flat racing - gigilo - puts more work in than most and a ridiculous judge of the formbook.

All things Irish - OnTheBridle

All things point to point and Hunter Chases - Irish Stamp

UK handicaps - Desert Orchid

For high quality racing I like to know the thoughts of Suny Bay and SteveM

On all things Tom Queally - Ardross

Cycling - BarTheBull has no peers

Smoker - SlimChance is a genius

Football - clueless guessers , not an opinion worth reading. No one thinks outside the box except maybe SteveT on obscure markets

Best punter on the forum - SlimChance hands down. He has the genius gene.

Irish stamp for pointing
Sunybay for group racing
On the bridle for Irish flat

I'm an expert at Monaghan club championship betting.

Gigilo (flat, esp AW), Irish Stamp (HCs) and Slim (info) if I had to choose three, but there are plenty of others - Roddy (Bowen's), EC (pace angles), Doomster, Simpson Jersey, Del, Suny (pattern races), and more recently Placebacker, MLRob.

A wealth of talent and knowledge. Best forum on the net.

A boring answer, but if I can't make my own selections, I'd pack up and do something else, but in the spirit of the thread, I'll take Gus, EC and reet. For as much as their selections, and races they tend to bet in rather than believing anyone stands out above some of the names already mentioned.

The thing with Gamla Stan, you don't need to see his selections, just get on the filthy EWs and anything foreign and double up if its Japanese :-)

Agree with David, it's all about your own selections ultimately.

But:

Suny on group races

Granger and Grassy on the jumps (despite their Hurricane Fly bias)

DO on handicaps on flat and jumps

are all opinions I take note of.

Agree on the Gamla Stan comments, but he is on Twitter a lot.

The forum is in good order generally with plenty of excellent posters. I do miss Warbler though.

A more general question, currently online there are 26 members currently active users, 6 members and 20 guests.

However under the Talking Horses statistics there are 2,334 members ( presumably meaning registrations, some of whom have never or rarely posted)
and 538 active members. What is "active" in that scenario ? Does it mean members who have posted in the last month, six months, year or what ?

On the tipping front, I read them for interest but don't bet so don't follow them enough to know who's good and who's not so good. The aftertiming is a bit much sometimes especially when the same posters lie low when their tips don't do so well. I'd be interested to know the level stake profit or loss of everyone as surely anyone who's serious about their betting keeps records.

Giggilo for me, even tho I can't stand that kamboooming **** which I find childish the man is just a machine that I never seen before, only one on here who can put up winners consistently.

I vaguely mentioned Dancealot (7/1) as recently as last Saturday and, prior to that, you only have to go back to June 2011 for my previous winning tip, Deacon Blues in the Wokingham.

Follow the man in form.

I rarely venture into the 'Daily Picks' or 'What are you backing today' threads - even during the Jumps season - so no real idea who the judges on the forum are.

Anyone agreeing with my selection on a particular race-thread I have marked as a shrewdie; with the remainder cast as bumbling, clueless, muppets.

Call me fickle.

PS. Betsmate knows his F1 inside-out, but appears to have evolved into a lazy c*nt insofar as his contributions are concerned.
PPS. Slim's feelers reach deep into the Darts community.
PPPS. Irish Stamp's knowledge of French Jumps form commands maximum respect.
