Frankel

I have located Edward and sent him an honest open message about the piece. If he doesn't agree or requests too much of a cut I will keep it.

My only other horsey work is the Denman piece mentioned...here it is...A totally different piece to Frankel, looser, lighter, colour, etc..

For more graphite work you can see my facebook page in my signature.

Good, I suspect Edward will congratulate you on the art and not ask for anything. A freelance would most likely see it differently.

Grassyhop, most artists approach the photographer to see images they have in order for them to work - they expect to pay and want to know how much. Some take their own photographs and others try to get away with it. I would like to think it is a small percentage.

I am a po faced *******. However. Sometimes I accept a copy of the art work as payment.

I will let you know what he says. Being honest, I do not draw for financial gain, even though I wish I could do it for a career. It is the satisfaction and excitement I get from producing the work that matters to me.

Liked your Facebook page. That Frankel piece is a masterpiece

Thats a stunning picture! wow!!

i have similar issues with the copyright. And I've never had a reply from any photographer when I've asked if I can use their picture. So if I ever wanted to sell the thing I don't know what I'd do. Maybe they will reply if they think there is money being made?? I just do them for me though, this is the one of Frankel I'm doing:

No real skill needed of course, just patience, but it's a great distraction from pain. I have ones of Kauto and Kauto and Denman. A friend does the conversions. I don't suppose anyone has a good picture of Dorans Pride?

After some email filter issues I have finally received permission to use theref image for the one off original artwork from James De Wesselow at the Racing Post, following communication with Edward Whittaker.

So, I won't be making prints but the original image will be for sale. If anyone is interested please pm me. I will send a message to those who enquired whether it is for sale above, with the asking price. Further photos of the work can be supplied if required.

Regards,

Mark
